08453550305
Report a phone call from 08453550305 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- JoolsThis is actually a genuine number - as others have said, the Co-op Bank chasing about late payments (oops!) I rang the number I usually rang as didn't recognise this one and they confirmed it was one of their departments and put me through. I pointed out that it seemed very like what happens with a scam call and that they may want to think about a better approach in future - wonder if they'll take any notice?
- Caller: The Co-operative Bank
- The docIt is the coop visa card calling for late payment . I went to pay mine on online banking and a message in red said my payment was late (First time ever I had forgotten) I paid imediately and calls stopped
- Caller: coop visa credit card
- Call type: Debt collector
- the Red GoblinA machine just called from this # and left a message (on my ansafone) identifying itself as the "co-operative bank of" "Mr Mahommed Adni..." (or something like that) and asking me to ring back on the same #. I have quoted their ID in 2 parts because they were each spoken by different voices - the first by the overall announcer and the second patently inserted (ransom note cut & paste style) into slightly too short a gap so that its end was suddenly cut off mid-word. All very suspicious to me.
To those who believe this to be a genuine #, I would ask why a mainstream UK bank may choose to describe itself in such a ridiculous fashion and what business they may have calling somebody with neither Co-Op bank account nor credit card (the stated topic of the call)? Nor ignore those before me who have also stated that they have no Co-Op account though I will admit to having been 1 of 3 named signatories (2 of which required on any cheques etc) of a club account for a few years some decades ago (possibly at my current address & #) but the club concerned certainly had no credit card.
FTR, I havent rung back to investigate because I refuse to ring 0845 #s and www.saynoto0870.com have no geographical alternative in their database.- Caller: co-operative bank of Mr Mahommed Adni...
- the Red GoblinJust had another call and picked it up this time. The machine identified itself in exactly the same dodgy way and asked me to press a key. Having done so, I found myself with a classic 'silent call' on my hands.
This time, I looked up and rang the Co-Op's 'Fraud Enquiries' # (01695 53927) on 'Say No to 0870'. At first, the agent didn't recognise the # in question but eventually confirmed it as genuine (her theory being a single-digit telephone # typo in their database) and suggested letting the machine put me through to a human agent next time it called - to at least get my number removed (presumably causing them to write to the customer concerned to ask after the correct version).
* Thus I'm passing her suggestion to all you other non-Co-Op typo victims FWIW so that you may hopefully sort out their [***]-up and perhaps witheringly vent your collective spleen on one of their minions. *
So it appears to be just sloppy business practice after all. But, though I've answered the second part of my question, I remain unimpressed by their daftly referring to themselves as 'The Co-Operative Bank of <presumably whoever they are calling>'!- Caller: co-operative bank of Mr Mahommed Adni...
- Jason GoldsmithI closed down my account 6 month ago, paid off my Credit Card...so why are these wallies calling me this morning ??? I ignore the 0845 number and checked it our here first. Thanks to this web site, I know these monkeys are desperate to lend...
- Caller: Co-Op Bank
- blinkeyMe Too, just got a phone call both on my land line and mobile and to return the call, which goes through to the automated system asking for security details....obviously hung up and contacted my bank who inform me that is fraud
- Caller: Co-operative Bank
- Langton's AuntCall the number and they don't identify themselves but ask you to enter your credit card details. It is definitely the Co-Operative bank chasing late payments. I told them it was a lousy system.
If you get this call better to call them on 0845 600 6000.- Caller: Co-Operative Bank
- FED UPnuicance calls even when paid up to date
- Caller: coop bank
- Matt replies to jaffaWell that's a bit immature. I'm sure he pays his bills on time as well.
- ConnieThis number just rang me on my home number and my mobile phone in quick succession. They asked me to press any key to continue and fortunately my phone doesnt react quickly so I didn't. I am not in arrears with the Co-op or anyone else. Just let it go to message box and don't answer.
- Caller: Not known
- Spam SlayerThis is the Co-Op but I called them on the usual number and not this one! One day late with payment and I get the automated call. I did answer the call and it just said call this number. I also annoyingly got the call on my mobile even though I answered and pressed a key on my line line phone!
I always search numbers before calling them so I can be sure it's not a scam. This is indeed the Co-Op bank regarding late payments but not sure if that number is another company they farm late payments out to etc..
Was told I may get some more calls but they have noted on their system I will be paying right away.
It can be annoying to get these calls but some companies just wait and send out Red letters threatening action, so overall this is better I think.
Of course what would be better if they sent u a tx or call perhaps before it goes to late payment so avoiding them nicking £10 off me for late payment!!! Bit like a hidden speed camera IMO!
So good system, not so good implementation.
I made the payment to them which took 2 mins which they will have straight away, but I still lose a tenner :o(
Usually friendly staff it has to be said.- Caller: Co-Op Bank
- MarkThe number in question does belong to the Co-Operative Bank. However it is possible to spoof caller ID information. I have received calls like that.
In any case you should *never* divulge any personal information to someone who calls you unless they have properly identified themselves first. This does show that the coop bank does not understand security. In addition these calls are virtually indistinguishable for well know social engineering attacks.
By operating this way the coop is teaching people to fall for scams. Despite the fact I have told them this on more than one occasion they still carry on.- Caller: COOP Bank
- John F ReedI am sick and tired of this company calling with their recorded messages. Twice today. Twice yesterday. Possibly more than that because I have been out much of the last week. They call in phases and I wish I had monitored them more effectively, but I have a life. Please do what you can to get them to delete and suppress my details permanently and to disclose any other companies to whom they may have sold them. Thank you.

- ValYes, this is genuinely the Co-op. Goodness knows why they use this horrible scam-style approach. My Smile credit card went into arrears as there was a problem with my direct debit of which I was unaware. I then got bombarded with calls.
Hoping the calls will stop now I've sorted out the problem!- Caller: Co-operative bank
- Call type: Event reminder
- MikeHad a call from this automated number claiming to be from the Co-op Bank & asking me to press any key to continue. Yeah right! I dont think so lol. Rang the Co-op to check but it turns out to be a genuine call. They did want to speak to me after all but safer to do it this way I think.

- Andy| 1 replyBe VERY very careful with these "co-operative" people if you are unlucky enough to have a credit card and current account with them. If you have any problems with your credit card, and they can't get hold of you (that includes when they don't write to you - even though it's in their 'best practice' guidelines - or they ring you and are silent or don't leave messages), they will hold you to ransom by stopping your debit cards and even stopping you from logging in to Internet banking.
I had the unfortunate issue on Friday where I didn't realise there was an issue, had no calls from them, no letters, and yet they had apparently been trying to get hold of me (despite the fact that I had paid the bill, and they should've been able to see this from my current account). Tried to buy a train ticket to go to work and they had frozen my debit card.
Absolutely hideous. Apparently they do it to "get your attention" but I call it blackmail. Nasty, nasty company — they are still a bank after all, and despite all the crap they have put the taxpayer and this country through, they still treat us like dirt. I joined them because I thought they were more ethical than the likes of Barclays, Natwest, HSBC etc. Don't you believe it.- Caller: Co-op Bank
- Call type: Debt collector
- cezcez replies to AndyIts a scam. Nothing to do with the coop bank. This number called me 5 times today. I have just called the coop, there is no record anywhere of them contacting me, even re my late credit card payment.
- MeThis is Co-Op bank, I've missed a few payments in my time and they always call me to get payment, I've followed the automated system to pay for my overdue payment (with my card) and I've never had any problems.

The above link is to the Coop Bank. It quotes two automated numbers that they state are the only legitimate ones. The 3550305 number must be a scam. That is unless the Coop have added others since the website was updated.
