- prd replies to craig| 23 repliesHi I went with Storefirst with a £100.000 pension pot. Set up by CLP. I had no idea it was an investment in storage. I was advised it was a way of earning on m pension fund. So far, no real profit. it was all initiated by Carey pensions. They tell me I need to sell the storage and thast can be two years! I can't, like others access my pension in April this year. I'm furious with Carey. They must have known the risks and poor returns of this unregulated company yet took my money without recourse to advising me of al the criteria! More fool me. I'm taking out a mis sold claim soon. CLP gone bust it seems -wound up for some reason.
- craig replies to prd| 2 replieshi PRD,Sorry to hear that,i don't want to appear a nosey git,but have you had any return yet on your investments? And have you had any sort of contract to sign,or was it signed by a authorized signatory?I have been fobbed off and misled for over two years now and getting nowhere, try this lady, she is a reporter with the Daily Mail who i believe is investigating Storefirst,(among others) r.lythe@dailymail.co.uk. Good luck, they should not be allowed to be getting away with this.
- craig| 3 repliesHello fellow victims of.Storefirst/Careys & CL&P,I need to know your experiences (good or bad, past or present).I feel that i am being scammed, this is my own opinion for all you lawyers out there,I just need as much information from people like myself to take on somebody who is TAKING my very hard earned pension for possibly a use not necessarily in my best interests.
I have tried and tried to get some sort of honest explanation for the total lack of revenue from my investment in STOREFIRST.are you like me getting absolutely nowhere?please feel free to use a alias,I haven't,my name is CRAIG STEVENS,and i am aware that the companies involved are watching...what you going to do? - john replies to craig
- joseph hinchcliffe replies to craig stevens| 1 replyI Too have been conned by this company and it looks that we are powerless to do anything, I would like to hear from any other investers who took their advice. I have registered a complaint with the ombudsman and would like to bring them to task. I currently have 87k invested and cannot get a penny in dividend or my investment back
- joseph hinchcliffe replies to craigi am also a victim with an initial investment of over a 100k. I am watching it dwindle away and ive not had a penny from them in 3 years.
My contact details are Joe Hinchcliffe 07539932266, email Jhinch2206@aol.com - joseph hinchcliffeI have contacted Careys on numerous occasions about my pension investments and never once been told of the link between them and CL&P. I was under the impression that all calls are recorded and that would prove we were all mis-lead and miss-sold. I was told that i would receive between 8 and 12 per cent dividend every year and that would be enough to pay my pension for life.
- Caller: CL&P Brokers(Careys)
- joseph hinchcliffeI was contacted by Careys a year after i had transferred my Company pension via LV to them.
I was told that I had to turn it into a annuity or the fund would run out before i did!
I took there advice on the investments that they recommended namely, GAS Verdant, Storefirst and Walsall Burial plots 46.5k, 25k and 13.2k.- Caller: Careys(CL&P)
- joseph hinchcliffe replies to Ian ScottCareys were the owners of CL&P Brokers so i am told. I think they closed down or went into administration
but its very difficult to get any information from Careys.
I too have my pension with Careys and its now worthless because my cash is locked up in three companies that promised me more back each year than my pension actually was. I am getting charged a fortune for them managing it and am watching my fund disappear each year. the companies invested in are, Storefirst 46.5k, GAS Verdant (Australia) 25k, Walsall Burial Plots 13.2k
I dint think I have a leg to stand on because the Ombudsman says these are unregulated and therefore dont come under their remit.
I would like to take Careys to court but it will be too costly for me to achieve this alone and they know it.
Open to suggestions ??? my contact details are jhinch2206@aol.com mobile 07539932266 - joseph hinchcliffe replies to craigI was told that unless our "pods" are rented out there is no dividend paid. How on earth are we to know whether they are rented or not?
I was further told if i wanted to take my money back out Storefirst will only give an 8th of the investment i made. I believe Careys were aware of this before they adviced me to by them!! - joseph hinchcliffe replies to prd| 2 repliesWe should have a group claim against Careys for miss selling these investments, I will write to the press association and see if they will cover it. I think a group approach would be more affective, let me know your thoughts.
