I got a call saying it was regarding a urgent business matter, I do not no the voice, the number or the name? Plus, I am currently unemployed?

I have discovered that this number is the CSA using dishonest (and unnecessary) tactics. Quite worrying.

just got a voicemail from same number saying they woz calling from a government office and for me to contact being that vague about there identity does not deserve a response it is csa and they already spoke to my childrens mother earlier in the day stating they had address for me

I too can confirm this is the child support agency (CSA).

Never disclosing whom they are, yet expect you to confirm yor identity with secrity details first.

A lady called Katie (I couldn't understand her surname) from 'a Government Office' left me a voicemail yesterday. She said that I had asked her to contact me after 7:00 p.m.(which I hadn't)and so she was returning my call. She left another number 0845 6090052 for me to call her back on and when I called this number a recorded message stated that it was the Child Support Agency. Although separated, I have nothing to hide from the CSA, as my children are 18 and 21 and I have kept an agreement with my ex to pay a set amount, that I could afford and she was happy with. Katie wasn't available but, another lady answered and asked me for my name and NI Number. I refused to give her any of my details as she couldn't prove who she was. I said I would prefer to wait for a letter and she agreed that this was the best option. Not sure why the CSA have started to cold call people. Very strange.

i too received a vague and  ominous sounding call and least expected it to be the csa as i am a single working parent with full custody of both my children.  being that the csa have never been able to get so much as a penny from absent father and i have supprorted my children with out the aid of benefits for 17 years i am quite appalled that they would call me in this manner

called me back again, definitely csa to tell me they are "enforcing" absent parent even though i never asked them to.  too little too late, my children are 17 and 15!!!!  wanted to "keep me informed" i.e. wanted me to massage their ego/sing their praises for doing what should have been done 13 years ago, told them to shove it.  i wouldnt mind but they wasnt even ringing to tell me they had some money for me.  what a joke.  he did apologise for the message, said he was bound by regulations to stick to the script lol

Just got a call from 08456090552 at our company asking to speak to my dad. As first I thought she was a sales woman, so I asked where she was calling from - refused to say. I knew it was them straight away. Very underhand tactic - phoning a business is not on. Told her if she didn't tell me where she was calling from, I wasn't going to pass the message on.

Received a call from the above number and the caller was asking me to call back urgently. Thanks for your info shared on the net I know now who is the caller.

They call and then expect you to disclose your National Insurance number - some chance, tell them to confirm who they are - why give your personal details to a complete stranger cold calling you? Get it in writing?

got a message from 01424 816933 saying they are a government agency and they needed to speak to me urgently, i rang them a woman called maurine said she was from the csa wanted my dob and postcode, she said i was in arrears of £423.01 although this took her a while to get up on her system, she wouldnt provide any details about the dates it related to etc, she wanted a card number for payment!! needless to say i hung up. My commitment to the csa ended in 2006 to which i am in receipt of a letter from them stating this. I believe this is either a scam where someone has gained details or the government trying to reduce the national debt, either way BEWARE, the csa are like vermin at the best of times. I tried to alert the csa to this their helpline was as usual unhelpful and talked to me like i was somethin on the bottom of their shoe which i came to expect from the many years i unhappily had to deal with them.

This is them scum bags CSA. Do not answer to these blood suckers. Support your own kids without shameful abuse from these parasites. Nobody wins when these wasters become involved!!!

They have called and left voicemails about 20 times today

Got the second call from this number -08456090052- today. The cheeky swine call from an 0800 number and then expect you to ring them back at your own cost.
The first call was at 8pm and as others have reported they asked half a dozen intusive questions without even identifying themselves.

As the child of divorced parents, who I assume may have involved the CSA, I got a call this morning asking for my mother from "susie" who asked for my mum and would not tell me who she was calling from or give me ANY information. She would only reveal that she was calling from an 'organisation' of some kind. I found the phone call rude and intrusive. It was only after finding a voicemail on the home phone which left the number  for my mum to call back on (again with no suggestion of who I would be calling) that I managed to check where the call had come from. As an 18 year old at home, I found the call to be aggressive, intimidating and worrying.

CSA Please call back we have some information for you.

Would you pay for a car on hire purchase and then get it nicked and still pay the insurance and tax and fuel for some strange bloke to have the benefit of it? Plus he has been in prison for sexual assault.

the csa messed up my life saying i was a dad to some girl when i was not i had three dna test every time the mother of the child refused and they still had taken thousands of money off me for child support i did not get my money back and my health suffored because of the parisite csa scum if i had of been her dad i would of paid with no problem at all

This number is CSA and totally genuine. Rang me loads and I eventually rang back, asked the guy they never left a name or where calling from etc, he said they never do as CSA cases can be very sensitive and sometimes can be ongoing without the knowledge of a current partner.
