I have had 3 calls from this number, "i am calling about an urgent business matter" "quote your national insurance number"    wasnt there when this message came through. Then the second one sounds quite rude and states "this is the second" and then the third is even worse. Dont see why i have to put up with that, i will happily pay my daughter/mummys wardrobe. But i would much rather i had her all the time and she paid me. But no, i am working and she gets a house all the bills paid and enough money to have sky etc etc... whilst dont even have enough to rent....? wonderfull.

Had a message from an 0800 number stating they wanted to contact my husband on a personal business matter and to call this number...as I usually do I checked the web for the number and came across this link - thanks guys - we have had nothing but problems with the parasites of the CSA, "there to support the kids"??!! what a load of rubbish, there to rake as money back to the government as they can, they don't give two "hoots" about the kids - they have taken SO much money from us over 10 years, seriously we are heading for the 100s thousands mark - we could have set up the kids with homes with that money, but instead their mum has a lovely life, while the kids go without - and she hasn't worked for over 20 years!?... meanwhile we didn't have any spare cash to treat the kids and have struggled - how is that fair? - if they owe you money it takes them months to contact you, yet if they think you owe them money they are on the phone constantly, even when like in our case you have proof they are wrong!?...this call was from a Barry Sutor, he said a letter would be in the post. The tone of the call was like a job offer, I thought it was from a decent agency, not the CSA wasters - CSA go chase the REAL non payers and stop harrassing those who comply!.... grrr...what a way to start the day....

I've just picked up a voicemail from this number. Interesting development as I have no children & have never had a relationship with anyone who has either. What on earth can they want with me?

How presumptious?! I am a single mother of two children under the age of 4....as in they are too young to go to school! If left caring for two children, how would one be able to work enough to support them without a little help, and why shouldn't a father have some responsibility for his own children?! For the record I do work, as well as studying for a degree and looking after my children by myself! If it wasn't for a little help to pay for a couple  days nursery a week, I wouldn't be able to do this and I would be claiming even more benefits! So maybe get off your high horse?

Yes, it the good old CSA - Complete Simpletons Agency - chasing me about a Direct Debit which bounced because they set it up on the wrong date.  No doubt my bank will now charge me for their error.

The CSA make me madder than hell. I'd love £1 for every minute I've had to spend on the phone to them over the years sorting out their [***] ups.  They're a disgraceful waste of tax payers money. If anyone could find out under the Freedom of Information Act how much money it costs for them to deliver each £1 they collect to the other parent, I'd love to know. I bet it's at least £5, making a complete nonsense of their existence!

    thanks
Thanks for these updates. I keep getting calls from these guys. As I am not working I am not keen to call 0845 numbers. One would expect them to use a free phone number under the circumstances and based on what they are supposed to be doing. To be honest, they may say they are calling about a "Business Matter", but they are not and to use that term now when most people are out looking for a job, gives a totally wrong impression, but I guess that is why they use it. To "trick" you into thinking that it is an employment offer.  Not very ethical, is it. To be honest a company will call and leave a contact name and what they are calling about, and usually indicate which company they are calling from. They will also tell you that they are calling you, as you responded to a particular advert and they would like to discuss the role with you further...they also do not use "0845" numbers, to go prospective employees to call.

I will not be calling back. The way the agency treats people, they are generally intimidating and threatening and hide behind the fact that the letters they send our or calls they make are based on a specific format, all of which causes people to feel anxiety and worry. It is generally intermidating and threatening and treats people like they are criminals.

It is sad to say that this is a government organisation set up to "help", which it does not seem to do in any reasonable manner. It only impoverishes people and ends up antagonising people so they do not want to have any dealing with it, whether you  need to pay or not. It is invasive and an unpleasant institution to deal with. I will not be returning this call.

I read on another website that the CSA retain 70p of every £1 it collects. Does anyone know of the amount of money collected on behalf of the children, how much is actually paid over to the parent with the children. I would assume that they should work out the % based on what a person has after paying rent, utilities and transport, as without these one cannot work. It also ensure that the other party has some money to live on and use to spend time with the children. It is probably best as far as possible if it can be arranged to set up a mutual agreement using an instituaiton like Relate, if one cannot come to an agreement, than to use the CSA, as this way all lives are impacted on negatively and most of the time they are unsuccessful. Something must be wrong with the laws or how they are implemented, as they seem to bring more unhappiness. I have waited for funds for over several years from the CSA to no avail, but now that I have a difficult teenager, who has moved out, I see the other side of the agency. They do not factor in that that I have myself and another child to look after and that they have not collected any maintenance for me for years, they just want a specific % for the child, and although I have shown them the breakdown of what it takes to keep a roof over our head, and the debt I have got into, they are not being of any assistance.

I intend to get some advice from NACSA, when I find a job, as I am currently unemployed. I am hoping they can resolve my issues and come to a reasonable solution and I only have to pay a small subscription it seems, which will be a big relief, as they will deal with the CSA and I will no longer get these calls, late at night, impacting on my free time. It is intermidating and upseetting and very very unpleasant. It takes away from you life, and I do not understand why the governement would condone this type of practices and behaviour towards it citizens, whilst expecting one to work, espeically when things are currently so hard for all of us.

However, if child maintenance is not paid by some, then I guess this is the only option. The non-resident parent will then have to use someone like NASCA to get a proper assesssment, if they can assist you and this avoids the CSA contacting you or your job. It also should give you peace of mind. However if they cannot help you, then it is best to come to some agreement, either between yourselves or using relate and the relevant forms. This ensures that all the money is going to the right people and in a way is stops most of us funding an organisation which seems to bring so much anxiety to so many people. The way that they handle issues only causes animosity and because it seems to be something experienced on both sides, then something is wrong.

Well!!! What can I say about the CSA....Its all about the PARENT with the kids!!!  My husbands ex-wife ran away, took everything, 216 miles she went, left him in 20k worth of debts too...for 6 months he travelled every weekend just so he could see them which she loved as she had her babysitter whilst she went out...Until he met me.. Things changed, he didn't go every weekend but started a life with me and my children...We would see them once a month as the travelling was too long and very expensive.. She became very angry as she was losing her permanent babysitter and threatened to take him for every penny he had but we threatened her with court to get the debt money half paid by her..for 5 years she was quiet as she knew thats how long it would take to pay the debts and there was a verbal agreement on the maintenance money..Every month we paid her £250 and managed to visit the kids once a month, total costing to us of around £500 but if we had them for the holidays (which we did EVERY holiday) then it would cost us almost twice that but we still always paid her..After the 5 years my husband had a call from the CSA saying, we had to set up a dd as his ex had decided she wanted to pay through them instead!!..Weird!! Run them, they wanted £175 A WEEK off him!!! I couldn't believe it!! They had gone through is place of work and asked for his Annual Earnings ...How they got to this figure, I have no idea!!..Call after Call after Call we managed to get it down to £82 a week plus they have just agreed to take off £11 a week for traveling expenses to see them..Its taken 7 months to get to this stage with one person saying one thing and another saying another..complete joke!!!...We have paid every month without fail for the last 5 years but the ex got greedy..Due to the CSA taking 7 months and the CSA telling us NOT to pay anything until its finalised as we where disputing the amounts due to the distance SHE moved them away we ended up in arrears..They are now taking £776 a month until Dec..We have just found out that shes booked a holiday for her and the kids whilst my kids go without!! The CSA really should look at all the income and outgoings before making there final figure too!!..His ex lives in a council house, works part-time, gets all the benefits and we live in PRIVATE RENTED ( we are not eligble for a council house) both work FULL-TIME but also have a lot of commitments ie, my husband has to pay £110 just to get to work a week and can't move jobs as hes in the Army..we can't move there as my kids and me are settled in our jobs and school and this is where all our family are..She is also Up North which I know the cost of living is sooo much cheaper than down South!!.. We have never ever stopped paying and my message to the CSA is........ Its a two way street, the parent with the kids are not always having a hard time, look at the dads that have had their kids taken away from them cause the mothers are [***] and also THE FATHERS THAT CAN PROVE THEY HAVE BEEN PAYING SHOULD GET LEFT ALONE!!!!  My final thing to say is....My husband has now not seen his kids since xmas...THANK YOU CSA

08456090052 .Is the CSA . eforcement orders after enforcement orders.
I brought my son up on my own for 6 years.
    No help from the mother.
But when my son decided to return to her The csa jumped on me for payments.
I paid the 15% of my gross income as demanded by them. I paid this everyweek by dd.
They the csa were not happy with my payments and started a 4 year which hunt for an income that did not exist.
Apart from in my exes mind. and the sexist csa .
So i apealed 4 times and won 4 times in front of judges and forensic accountants. Each time the figure was agreed at tribunal.
The figure agreed at court to be around 2.000. uk pounds,
The csa still came up with an additional figure of 11 thousand pounds..
    19 enforcement orders.
    4 tribunals.
All this plus the loss of contact with my two kids because of there alledged underpayments to my kids.
The stress and the threats of ballifs court orders all for a miscalculation not just once but 4 times.
Have forced my business to the verge od bancrupsy.
I have had so much time off work due to stress.
So if this number calls you are doomed to there sexist draconian dictatorial hell that I am still suffering.
The csa are above the law.
Even when I C E agree with you they still ignore there guidance.
Tribunal judges direct the csa and yet they still ignore there learned instructionns.
Even Terreesa May just lets them extort money out of hard worrrrrking estranged Dads.

Just to sum up replies to Pillaried dad
    I must thank the CSA.
FOR DRIVING MY TWO GREAT KIDS AWAY FROM ME.
Waisting tens of thousands of pounds of tax payers money chassing a none existing debt.
Suporting a unstable bitter ex wife to drive me to the edge of dispare.
In the divorce I won custody of my son.
The financial settlement was 70% of the estate went to her. Dispite me having the younger child.
So why did the csa get involved.
My ex earns more money that me.
Lives in a house that I paid off the mortgage for.
    sHE ALSO HAS ADDITIONAL INCOME.
    and an indexed linked pension.
    yet Iget all the greife.
But when my son lived with me I got no CSA help at all.

I see that after reading this tread there are so many dads in my position/
So why dont the goverment do something about the csa.

I had a call from them today. I'm a single Dad, self-employed and never asked them to do anything and thought it was weird. I dont want them to do anything but I have to put it all in writing to stop them haha!
I know plenty of people trying to get them to do their job but it seem those who are happy with being left alone they want to jump in and cause aggro!

I too can confirm that this is the CSA. They have also been ringing people at my place of work to try to get hold of me.  My ex won't let me see my children and says that they don't want to see me. If she, or they, want my money, I deserve to see them. If my boss doesn't me, I don't get paid.

    My sentiments exactly, Pete.

My ex stole my children off of me and she lives, in  my house, with a bloke that earns three times as much me.  Still she chases me through the CSA, even though she is rolling in it while I live in a poxy privately rented flat.  She doesn't realise that if she would just talk to me, and let me see my children, she receive more from me than she would the CSA.
