Got a call from this number about 20 minutes after phoning a contact center of a company to query my account details.

Its alleged the call center agents at the companies we call are giving out our details to others.

I keep getting a missed call from this number 087 7200 332 and when i try to call back it does'nt go through. Where is it from?

Just got 2 missed calls from this number. The first was a very short abrupt one, and the second went on longer. No voice message - when I tried to call back - number was not in service. Clearly some scammer.

I got a call from this number 0877200332 some lady called saying she is tebogo  and she is calling me from standard bank telling me how much i qualify for credit card i told her not to call me again or i wil swear at her . i think standard need to do something about this because its starting to work on my nvrs. we dont need this . who ever you are stop calling me or you will curse the day you were born

I just got a call from the same number, stating she's from MTN and has a deal with an HP laptop including a Huwawei modem for R275 a month... She was very rude, and kept asking me why I'm not interested in this... Even if I gave her a stupid reason, she kept asking why, and had some personal racist remarks... I put it on speaker phone to let the other guys at work hear how ridiculous this call was getting. When I asked her name at the end of the call she was blatantly resisting the question and saying that I wasn't the original person speaking that she phoned, and eventually hung up.

i also got a call from this number. Knew my my name .

I also recieved n call from this number it was very noisy in the back ground he knew my name and then we got cut off trying to call back and "the number you have........."

Just got a call from 087 720 0332; the guy claimed to be an authorised MTN reseller and I was "pre-approved" for a BlackBerry contract of some kind.

This is clearly an attempt at a scam; frustratingly he knew my name.

Keep getting calls from the 0877200332 number but I never answer it.  I was also getting calls from 0738406944 which I also ignored.  At one stage I got 8 calls in a day from that number.  These guys are really persistent and a complete pain.

A lady fro the same number call me on the 14 of August claiming to me that i qualify a credit card from standard bank

In the last 2 weeks, I have had 2 calls from this number, the first one was a black woman and yesterdays call was an indian guy, stating that they were from standard bank card and I qualified for a limit increase. They both asked for net salary, (I gave no personal info to them) then got loads of noise in the backgfround and was disconnected!
Have now saved this number in my phone under the name of standard card SCAM - so the next time they call, I have every intention of swearing at them!!

i also got a call from this number, they offered me an mtn contract phone of which i received ten days later.. If they didn't scam me why would you all think they'd scam you

Couldn't answer because I was in a meeting. The person tried to call again imediately after.
I tried to call back after the meeting but only got "The Subscriber you have dialled is not available"
...he was probably on the phone with the next poor chump on his list...

I got a call from the above number, the lady i spoke to said she was calling from MTN and my cell phone number qualifies for a contract.  But gave her all my details - but i now i want to cancell it but I can't seem to get through.  The number is forever busy.

Got several missed calls from this number and when i returned the calls, the number does not go through.

I got called by that number over 5 times, short rings and when I tried calling back it was unavailable. I eventually blocked the number seeing as it feels fishy and I hate being called over and over.

I got a call from this number offering a credit card from Standard Bank - is it legally or a scam

I have been getting multiple calls from this number. Numbers which start with 087 are normally VOIP numbers, many of the call centres use them. That's why it goes dead when you try to call back as it is a "virtual" number. It is most likely telemarketing, unfortunately our numbers and names have been sold to these people, usually from legitimate business you may have conducted such as opening a bank or retail account.
