I was contacted on number 087720 0332 for a limit increase from Standard Bank.   I have confirmed with Standard Bank and they advised that this number is valid and that this is part of their Marketing and that this is not a scam.  I would suggest that people should confirm with their bank  first, before giving any one your personal information.

Keeping getting calls from this number.  Claims to be from Blue Bean, a card division from Standard Bank.  When I declined the chap became quite aggressive.  I have now blocked the number

Received a call from a lady from MTN. I asked where she got my details and she started laughing. When I said that the POPI act is applicable she said I am mistaken, people will keep on calling me. Very upset about this, she put the phone down.

Its this company, they called and threatened me earlier....

I also received a call from this number this morning and decided to Google it and found this thread, after reading through all the posts I'm not sure what to think, majority of posts are stating it's a scam but no one has come forward stating they have been scammed, then there a few posts from people who have received what they were sold.

These guys are phoning back this afternoon, could do with a Credit Card but you guys have me worried.

Two things

1. I do know, as someone a few posts back has said, the number is a virtual number, you will never be able to phone it back, these call centre's are set up to phone out.

2. Someone mentioned POPI, this has not been passed, i just read somewhere that it is still being gazetted so expect another year before it gets passed into law.

I received a call form this number too about a month ago and was pleasantly greeted by a lady called Clorie - she explained that was calling on behalf of Bluebean - a division of Standard Bank. I asked her the details of her company and how she got me name & she explained it all very professionally and in layman's terms. I was also cautious at first but she put me at ease. I asked her to call me back the following day as I first wanted to establish the relationship between Standard Bank & I-talk before jumping to any conclusions. I called Bluebean and they confirmed that I-talk was one of their out sourced partners.

She returned my call the next day at the agreed time & took me through all the product features & benefits and the terms & conditions so I knew exactly what I was agreeing to. I have subsequently received my Bluebean Credit Card so this is definitely not a scam.

Got a call from a guy saying I qualify for a credit card he knew my name and surname and even gave me the last digits of my ID number very concerned now.

Emmanuel phoned me regarding offering a credit card at Standard Bank.  I have never applied for it.  FRAUD!!!  He insists it isn't fraud.

I asked her where she got my number from and some mumbled,broken English story.

Also being receiving a lot of calls from this number, but when I call back there respond is nothing but just a voicemail that I can leave my message after the tone.

Yeah I also gave my bank details ,ID etc,,,
A lady called me claims she's from MTN and they have a cell phone promotion,at first I dropped the phone because I had an incoming call, she called again same voice but different name I could not attend to her becoz I was driving. The next day she called using a different name again. It ticked in my mind but she insisted,until I gave in !
I'm so stupid :( I watch scam shows n don't believe this?

Hi I keep getting "Sales" calls from the same number, last week was insurance this week MTN or on behalf of MTN. There is so much noise in the background one can not actually hear what the person is saying. How do you block these calls? I don't have time during the day to listen to someone trying to sell me something to which I am going to say no to anyway and not be treated rudely when you decline the service or tell them you don't have time to chat now.

hi there, just received a call from 0877200332 a african guy with noise in back ground. stating that his from Izwe loans and that i qualify. well he knew my name and surname as my car was stolen with a certified id copy inside with other documents he asked how long i was working for the company and with what bank i banked. i did not tell him nd gave him the companies info address and not my own mail address as i dont trust anything and i did not apply for any loans. yet he knew my name and number.
