This is a scam.  A representative from Visa calls you saying they can lower you interest rates on credit card payments.

I co-operated with the lady (American accent) who takes the long card number off my VISA card, the last 3 digits on the rear etc.  Oviously I gave her false details.

Then she goes away (presumably to try and buy something online) before returning to tell me that the account number must be invalid.

I leave my reply to your imagination.

DO NOT GIVE YOUR DETAILS TO THESE PEOPLE OR ANY OTHER SUCH CALLS.  A CLEAR SCAM.

Rang several times before but I wasn't in. Today I was the woman said her name was alex . she said it was a survey and knew my name and address and telephone number. she asked question s about products ie electric bills and when was my insurance due etc. kept asking me about income age and whether i ownwd  or rented home. also what benefits did i get ie disability pension credit attendance allowance etc. i wouldn't answer

Called my landline number 5 minutes ago but I heard only silence when I answered.  Needless to say I terminated the call immediately!

PLEASE DO NOT GIVE YOUR DETAILS TO THESE PEOPLE, THEY ARE ONLY RINGING TO GET FINANCIAL DETAILS AND TO STEAL FROM YOU. 0301 IS A COMPANY THAT DOES THE SAME.

For two nights now my husband has answered the phone and when he speaks the caller hangs up. The number is 08925 and my research took me to a web site that stated that this was a scam to get my Visa card number.

What do I do about this 08925 bogus phone call

I was visiting my mother-in-law (who has vascular dementia and Alzheimer's disease), and her phone rang - my husband answered it, even though he said 'Hello?' several times, there was total silence on the other end, so my husband terminated the call.  We called 1471 and found the caller's number shown as 08925.  Having checked and discovered what other people have said about 08925, this is a concern, particularly when they try to call vulnerable people such as my mother-in-law in an attempt to obtain personal financial details.

They've called my house four times in four working days asking for my mother. The first time I said she wasn't in and they said it didn't need to be her, perhaps I could help. I said I hope not and she said thank you and started on some spiel about a survey. I terminated the call.
The second time it was a bloke again asking for my mother. I told him we'd already had a call the previous day and had said then that we weren't interested. He seemed surprised that we'd already had a call and I again terminated the call.
The third time my mother answered and said it was an inconvenient time as she had visitors. They were persistant and my mother, who isn't as blunt as me, didn't just hang up but continued to explain why she couldn't speak to them. I eventually took the phone from her and hung up.
They've just called again but this time the line was silent.
How can we stop them ringing?

claiming to be a survey and i immediately told them i'm not interested. Didn't know until i visited your site that this is actually a scam. Have received calls regarding the credit cards but always terminate immediately.
Yesterday my husband tried to ask them questions but was cut off. I think you have to regard all calls from unidentifiable numbers as suspicious. These people have asian accents.

08925 called twice. Call not answered

called tonight nicole with asian accent. said she was a survey and needed 1 minute of my time.told her i was with telephone preference to which she apologised and said she just needed my number to update her records. can something not be done about these people. ?

Jst Had A Call 4m An 08925 Number Again! They Have Phoned 4 Times Asking 4 A Mrs Taylor... I Said 2 The Lady On The Phone Not 2 Call Back Again & She Hung The Phone Up On Me! Jst Shows Its A Total Scam.

Received call at 10.36 today from caller ID showing 08925 but when I answered the phone there was just silence at the other end - I am also registered with TPS.
Fortunately checked your website again after problems with a different company & found I am not the only one.
Try this if unwanted calls become a problem, then just ask the caller to hold the line one moment & leave the phone & the caller hanging on in mid air for as long as it takes.
They will eventually get fed up & terminate the call themselves & once you hear the disconnection tone, you may have some satisfaction in knowing that you have also wasted their time for a change !!

Pain in the bum. Just pressed 1471 after running to get the phone. Tel number 08925. Grr when I answered they hung up.

Have had four calls this week asking for my husband by name. When i said he wasn't in she said I could help as it was a survey. Said I wasn't interested but she was very persistent. Just had another call asking for my husband, when I said he wasn't in she said I would do. When I said is this a survey she hung up. I am also registered with TPS.

Have received this call four times during the week. I'm also a member of TPS which doesn't stop them. Just giving the area code number is suspicious in itself.
