Trying to find out who keeps calling me

this number keeps calling me and there is no one on the line,it is really getting on my nerves!!!!!!!

Silent callers - used to be around 5mins. past the hour, now calling several times daily at xx:37ish. Rings until ansafone kicks in, but never leaves a message. Also get people who don't know or cannot pronounce my name.

I have just received a call from this number who asked to speak to the home owener.  When I asked who he was he said he was a grant advisor.  The call was about a grant for loft and cavity wall insulation.  When I said I  didn't qualify, he said everyone could get a grant.  At this point I said I wasn't interested and hung up.

I keep getting calls from this number but they hang up when I answer.  I noticed its an 09 premium rate number so I never call back

I've had a call from this number - nobody speaks and it goes dead a couple of seconds later

Keep getting phoncalls from this number around lunchtime.  Phone goes dead after a second.

Had a call today, picked up the phone, no person but sound of phone ringing which was then answered by someone with a strong indian accent (difficult to understand) with a lot of background noise. Asked if I was the owner and started to talk about insulation and grants. Claimed to be phoning on behalf of the government. I asked what was the department and found out the caller actually belonged to Exenergy of Worcester (www.exenergy.co.uk). She could not see the difference between calling on behalf of the government and calling on behalf of a private company, with no connection to the government, about using government grants. I am sure I have heard this person before on another topic, which would suggest to me that it is a call centre acting on behalf of anyone who pays them to make calls. Afterwards I rang 1471 and was surprised to find the number given as 09195551212. I am waiting to see what, if any, the charge was before complaining to trading standards, my MP and anyone else I can think of. I wonder how many are taken in by the claim 'on behalf of the government'.

This number keeps calling me. On one occasion an american sounding woman asked to speak with the homeowner. I said the homeowner isn't in and asked if I could  take a message at which point the caller hung up. It is so infuriating and how have they got my number? I'm supposed to be ex directory! Have been receiving many nuisance calls recently and am reluctant to answer my phone in case these calls are being charged to my phone bill. I now let the phone ring, unplug it if necessary and later retrieve nombers by dialling 1471. I feel like I don't have the freedom to answer my phone.

I've just had a call from this number and no one was there,  I see from other reports , it might be about a loft insulation grant.  I am fed up, we have had so many calls about loft insulation, we are not interested.  It makes me wonder what is the point of signing up to the Telephone preference scheme!!

Had a `silent` at 1628 - the usual `witching hour`. If this is (Maurice, above) exenergy then we can nail the [***], mine is a TPS registered number and it is time they got off their backsides and started earning their keep.

Have received an apology from exenergy saying that they `purchase leads from a small group of companies who we work in partnership` and that `we work extremely hard to ensure all the companies we work with are aware of our stringent rules and code of conduct that we adhere to, this includes TPS`, unfortunately on this occasion it seems we have been let down.` I gave them my Post Code and phone number and told them to ensure it was removed from any data base in their possession. Since then I have received 5 more calls from this number, three silent.

Call from above number and foreign accent asked for home owner. Put receiver down. Who is it?

why do these people keep calling and hanging up?? I have been informed that if you dial 1471 and call the number back you are risking a very very heavy phone call bill as they are premium rate numbers and they can charge what they want. So DO NOT CALL THEM BACK

try dialling 1477 after the call and it records it as a malicious call

I have had a call from this number today at 1000 but as I was out they did not leave a message. But I did not call it back. I would be interested to know what the outcome is.

I have just had a call from Henry asking for the homeowner, calling about government grants for loft insulation. I said "so you are calling from the Goverment" and he said "yes, ma'am" at which point I said, "I don't believe you and I am not interested" and put the phone down. I am ex-directory and telephone preference.
