This is a scam.  The number is a fake and anyone who calls about faults on your computer is a scammer.  The people who call are not from Microsoft or its partners.  Microsoft are the only people who would know about your computer and they do not telephone people.  The people who 'phone do not know anything about your computer.  They do not know IP address or your provider.  They want you to let them have access to your computer by signing on to a website.  If you do that they will put spyware/malware on your computer to streal bank details and passwords.  Do not answer your 'phone or if you do answer, tell them you know it is a scam and put the 'phone down.  There is a warning about this scam on the Microsoft website.

Most likely a scam. Do not fall for it. Someone said it comes from India.

I agree. It's a good chance you are exactly correct.  Best advice keep your information as your information. If information is not available on the internet they would have to be committing crime to get your information. People do not realize how easily companies and businesses much less the government obtain your private information from what we would assume would be secure websites when it boils down to nothing is secure with the access granted to these horrible entities.

Said my phone number was selected to recieve free financial aid. I said I don't need financial aid. I'm finished with school. Immediately  hung up on me after I said that. I guess I'll see if they keep calling.

Calls from 102 and 1002 numbers all day. Some foreigner hung up when I said I wasn't interested in whatever it was they were trying to sell me. But this number has me concerned and these calls won't stop coming and they know my name. How did they know my name!?  They will call and call and call but never leave a voicemail. I only answered because I had just posted an ad to sell some furniture on a website, and thought maybe it was an encrypted number folks were using to reach out to me for that ad. Otherwise I would've never answered.

I get them every 2hrs and I don't give them a chance to be rude.  I just tell them I can't understand what they are saying and that I already know they want my credit card information because I googled them.  they hang up but I would like it to stop.
