    O.S replies to Me
Yes, I am in the UK and have just had the same message (except that it said to check O.S's photos) I have never had Facebook either. I do find it a bit odd that they know my name though...think a call to the phone company may be in order to see if they've been selling my details.....

Got the Facebook photo text from +1006. Done a bit of digging.
Someone on Facebook who has your number and uses FB on their phone has been phished, and the original sender has ALL of the contact details they store. Pretty clever, besides being stupidly obvious to the end point.
Also got an email at around the same time with exactly the same message... so they got my work email too. Great.

Just had the same text this morning from +1006 asking me to click on a facebook link to see someone's photo's. The persons name that it mentioned was a removal guy that I used a few months ago, so he must have been phished. Also something for you guys to consider: Those who have android and iPhones - I was installing a random app last month and you that you have to click ACCEPT for the app to be installed in your phone once you've read the T&C's. No-one reads the terms and conditions (except me).  The app was for mp3 music and the T&C's said that by installing the app, you give permission for the app to access your phone call records, your contacts, messages etc etc. I thought about that for a second and decided not to accept because I couldn't figure out why a music app would need access to my text messages and contacts. I later found out that the free apps on smartphones are designed as a phishing tool. Example, there's a free app which gives you recipe ideas for cooking dinner. But once you've installed that without reading what the T&C's are, you don't realise it's tracking your phone for marketing puposes to see how your phone is used, who you're contacting the most (so they can 'personalise' spam with accurate names).
There's a saying that nothing comes for free, and with the way technology is going, I'm starting to realise that. I somehow feel violated - there must be a data breach somewhere which makes this +1006 form facebook illegal. My information is personal unless I give permission for it to be used!

It seems to be Facebook bothering people trying to convince them to join. They must have got my number from one of my friends but it's a nuisance. They show no respect and have no boundaries.
