i was charged $28.76 for a call from this number. Who is it and where is it?

They called me with the name VisaSupport saying there was (Unusual Activity) and to call a number. I dont have a Visa, but I called anyway and the first thing they wanted was my 16 digit credit card number. There were no other options just the Credit Card number request. They have apparently moved from spam to fraud.

This number is actually owned by AT&T. They provide a feature where you can use e-mail to send a text message, using <7-digit phone number>@txt.att.net. You all are actually receiving plain old e-mail spam.

i got a text at 6:42pm from this number and it said:

i thought it was spam because the o in com is a zero.
i went on the website to see what it was and its a
canadian pharmacy for viagra, cialis and levitra?
i didnt apply for any of this? any way to get rid of it?

Same message I got but it substituted the names with friends of mine. It was "from" a friend and the name in the message was the name of her boyfriend. Either that is one heck of a coincidence or they are using my phonebook or another website to come up with these messages.
