Why would you get so agressive over such a thing as not answering to one number 'NOT a moron...unlike some.' i mean, why call people paranoid because they do not answer to this number. If you have read some of the above posts then you should know that sometimes it can be dangerous such as identity theft. Sure, not all the time its bad, but when it get to the point of 10 calls a day repeatedly, then somethings wrong there. Don't call people tards because they do not answer their phone and dont tell them that there is not point in owning one if they never answer it. Its their choice and if they never use it, you may think its a waste but they dont. And how does people, from other areas of the planet, not answering their phone affect you? Pleas be a little more considerate for your fellow people, you know. I don't want to be a [***] or anything, i'm just saying that you went a little over the top in you comment, thats all.

When I answer this number, it was a recording saying that my credit card interest rate could be lowered if I press 1 now and that it was my final warning.  I did press 1 and a guy answer me asking me if I had a Visa or MasterCard.  I asked if he was from Visa and he hung up on me.

As far as Skype goes, users can preset their registered Skype-Out number or their mobile phone as their Caller-ID displayed number.  This helps legit people and businesses to call others without that default '123456789' number showing and holding a bit more credibility.

That law is US based and unfortunately doesn't protect overseas citizens.  In addition, because the alleged offence is targeting overseas citizens, there is no negligence towards US citzens and thus the clause doesn't apply nor is it effective.

i have no idea why this number (123456789)keeps on calling me... the last time that the number called me i was in the middle of my biology lab and i answered to white noise... nothing but air... im getting fed up, and trust me my lab instructor wasnt to pleased either!... ugh

My boyfriend calls me from like Japan or something, and whenever he calls it shows up as 123456789. He has left messages everytime he has called, I did not pick up at first but then I realized it was him.

So yes, it could benefit you to answer in the end. (:

Lets get real if its someone i know then they will leave a message...It doesnt matter where tehy are calling from. The other side of it is you cant make a complaint if u dont anwser it. Whining here wont stop em . Anwser it if its bogus then file with FCC thats the thing to do

This number could be anyone. It is not completely safe, nor is it completely harmful. VOIP allows anyone to spoof their caller ID information, so no number, even if it is familiar, is completely safe. I would advise you to let it go to voicemail first and then decide weather it is legitimate.

I have gotten a few missed calls from 1-234-567-89. I dont know who it is but its weird. I answered 1 today and as soon as i answered the call ended.

it was the second of january 2009 i was talking to my friend and then i head a beeping i was my other friend trying to get on to me on the other line then i heard the beeping again when i look i saw the number +123456789 i try to ans the phone but i forgot that my phone had two way and not three way but the wead thing about its that i missed the call and call did not recorded on the miss call profile it recorded on the recieve call

i got a call from the number 123456789 and then ask for details about my credit card saying if that i had won a compition i hadnt they stole all my money
