Made the mistake of calling this number and talked to a man.  Gave them my ref no.  When I asked the company name I had to ask twice..
I then asked for the company's address and was transferred. The next man Gary Williams informed me that until he knew who I was he would not tell me due to the privacy act.  I said that asking for a company's address had nothing to do with the privacy act and I would not give him any information at this point.
He then told me that he didn't know who I was so he wouldn't give me the company's address.  THEN he started to abuse me saying things like I was a TERRORIST!!!!  I told him what he said upset me greatly and I did not want more calls from this number and hung up.  I doubt this is a real company, it was very crap

I haven't had a call from this 1800 213 738 but my sister did. Sounded suss. So looked up 1800 213 738 (with spaces) and this lead to website Byond Global. Have a look around the site. And try googling Byond Global Outsourcing Pvt Ltd (company name off site). Hope this helps.

Hi guys....I used to be a debt collector with transpacific debt collection....the call venter is based in india....dont verify ur dob n threaten them that u will complain in ACCC. Even call them bk on 1800 213 738 n threaten thm....they will mark ur no as XCN n no more calls will be made to ur no. Trust me they can not do anythng....I was a debt collector there...

I have had dealings with the company since 5 years now; I had a debt from GE bought by Transpacific/ Byond Global with an out standing balance of $22,570. I played smart wit them by making them beg for the Moolah all these years as they kept on calling me day in and out offering me many payment offers , huge discounts……………. I kept them guessing as I have been changing my phone and address but these guys must say are good at tracing and chasing us …………………. But the best thing with them is that they don’t charge any interest on the money owning unlike other collection house and banks which has been charging heavy interest rates and penalty charges …….. I just cant imagine paying interest on an debt which I had incurred 10 years back………………….. finally last week I had a last laugh on this when I managed to fool them by negotiating a best deal by producing them some [***] hardship letter which they requested for before offering me a settlement to pay just a peanuts………….. any guesses of how much my deal was mates ……………………….. haaaaaa just for $ 11,000…………………… I am free from my debts and that makes me laugh and laugh and laugh.

They are not a scam (although the practices they use to collect are dodgy). They are debt purchasing company who purchase outstanding debts from companies such as GE. Often they have wrong phone numbers or details but continue to use these. They call at all hours. I have recieved phone calls after 8.30pm and I even recieved a phone call on Xmas eve. They are scum however rather than risk them taking you to court I suggest you ask for the debt in writing. I have even heard them resort to threats. If you look up the consumer credit code this is illegal. Debt collectors cannot force you to make repayments you cannot afford. As long as you are paying something on a regular basis they cannot force you to do any more. Hope this helps

i have been getting calls from this mob also via "Alex Smith" he's been told not to call again but keeps doing so.
saying all the stuff u all have said above, but IMO if it's that important they would say what it's about. also, a bit of a common name for an Indian or Pakistani, lol, also glad i found this site, if they call again the cops r getting the details

I have been getting calls from these idiots for weeks, not realising they were a debt collection agency. I hate receiving calls from Indians as they are generally selling something you don't want, that accent immediately gets my gander up.

Tonight I got the message, "Very Important you call Joseph on 1800 213 738"

I rang thinking that I would put an end to these calls. He asked for my DOB which I refused to give. I was swearing voluably by now. He suggested I confirm a DOB he gave me. It was out by 18 years. Then he asked if I had ever lived at ******(obscure town in NSW) I said no. so could he please F*** OFF!

He said I should not be abusive as the telephone call was being recorded.

I thought that recording calls without the other party's permission was illegal.

Next time I'll ask if they want to buy my goat as suggested by an earlier contributor.

they are rude a...holes.  my mother is having to pay at debt thats not hers and has already being paid. the debt belonged to my father and still had to pay again.  watch these people because they have a way of ruining credit history .  they also add money to their debt so im left ponder why dont they pay them more so they can feed their f... elephants themselves instyead of ripping widower off

They left a message on my mobile for the second time, the first time, it was a different 1800 number. Called back the first time. They wanted my DOB. I refused to give it until I knew what it was about. We compromised. They said a year and I told them it wasn't my year of birth. They then said an obscure country town, I said I'd never set foot in it. They said they wouldn't bother me again. Thank Christ I thought.

I rang the new number tonight and told them in no uncertain terms I was not the person they were looking for. I was again told again they wouldn't bother me again.

A quick white pages search uncovered a person with my name in the same obscure country town. My surname isn't terribly common, 260 odd in the whole country with a telephone connected,

Are they so monumentally dim as to not try the sme trick?

Sent these people an email and got this in response. Note that original email was sent to anthony.rivas@byondglobal.com but was answered by their Compliance Officer, ravikanth.lepakshi@byondglobal.com

The fact they even have a Compliance Officer is reassuring, however compliance after the fact is less so.

In my email to them I referred to them as Pakistani, mainly just to irk them, but they appear to be unflappable.

I keep receiving calls and messages from various East Asian persons with strangely Anglicised names. Without advising me of the nature of their business, they demand my date of birth and other personal information. This type of information could be used to enable identity theft, and I will never give this information to a suspicious sounding Pakistani who happens to call me via a number which is not displayed on my telephone.



Who would discuss their “important personal financial matters” with an unknown Pakistani? Not me!





A spell on the internet established that Byond Global (sp.?) is a purchaser of bad debt variously based in Bangalore India and/or QLD.



I have established after a long and heated exchange that the person they seek has the same name as I do, was born in 1978 and evidently gave an address in H*******d NSW.



I was born considerably before 1978 and have never set foot in that town.



This information was stressed to the Pakistani idiot on the telephone, yet I am still receiving calls from your people.



If you idiots still feel that I am in some way connected to these debts, you may send me the details of them in writing to the address you no doubt have,

otherwise these calls will stop now.

These people rings us all the time asking about dad , they refuse to gove details and the other day i spat the dummy because they rang us 6:00 in the morning. I wish these fkrs would leave us alone.

when contacting transpacific for a statement of all payments received they play dumb or don't know what you are asking or that they have NO IDEA on how to deal with australian's. they seen to think that by taking on a id of john smith will put us at ease but it don't. its the simplest request that seems to go around in circles.

Yes I get harrassed daily by these people who bought my debt from GE money. They have bullied me in to paying them money but will not send me conformation. AM I BEING HAD???

We have been paying Transpacific for years...thousands of dollars from a GE debt, our first calls came from Trans Pacific saying they had taken over the debt. They constantly have harassed and bullied us since.. they say they are a debt collector for GE but we have never seen a statement or statements to say what we have paid or still owe!  Once when we refused their calls they contacted a few of our neighbors and asked them to give us a msg to call them on  1800 213738, a Sean Wilson is an absolute moron and now its a Adam Anderson LOL..but all jokes aside, who the hell have we been paying??? We will not pay another red cent until we find out!!!
We cant change our numbers due to our business nor go private, this is really getting on our nerves...who do we call???

the only reason, debt collectors ask anybody to verify dob..becoz they want to know that they r talking to the right person..bcoz it is against law to disclose anybody's personal details to any third party.....although why r u people afraid to give ur dob......u people r kind of professional debtor...who takes debt and wants 2 run away....
u people are not able to live on your own thats why u take a loan..which ur [***] does allow u 2 pay...
but now this company transpacific has started taking a legal action against those who has not been paying....
