I too receive calls from Transpacific!! Yes, i owe them money which I am paying off. At one stage i was getting multiple calls within a matter of minutes, when i finally answered to give them a mouthful the indian on the line told me he was watching me from the road and that he loved me. This went on for a few minutes untill i told him "i will let my husband know he was watching me" funnily enough he hung up. I reported him to Repcol amd was told "none of their staff would do that". I have since put a ban on my phone so I would not receive any overseas calls at my own cost!! They are pigs and should be banned from debt collection

i've been paying off a debt with them for years and have experienced harrassment, abuse and threats aswell. has anyone payed off a debt with them and not had anymore problems??

thats an sick ass org...a trick to dodge them is by tellin them a false dob..n they cant do anything abt it...however they have relocated from india to malaysia..they just need money from any tom dick n harry.

i have a problem with traspacific threts etc i reported them to the department of fair traid and found out the gonverment was investigating them for shoty practices you might want to report them so their busniess licence in australia is revoked

They are complete scam artists. They trick people into paying already paid debts, paid to Ge, twice.  If a debt is paid off then they do not clear credit history for someone, so far as I know. They can't from Indian call centres. When requesting to have credit history cleared with them, they claim that it is difficult. When they say that the credit history is cleared, it is not. So what is the point of someone paying a debt if it has no effect and the money doesn't even stay in Australia? And how dare they not refund a debt that has been repaid twice, they don't even bother to check up on this. Utter harrassment! This form of debt collection should be illegal.

Seriously, for 4 years I have put up with their harrasment, abuse and total [***].  When I question them I don't get a clear answer and they become evasive.  You want my details than give me yours, until than you will be getting nothing from me!!!!!!!

As for them being "Debt Collectors", what a joke.  Australian Debt Collectors know the laws and guidelines that we have to follow and a majority of us do, if these jobs stayed in Austalia instead of being sold to overseas [***] than correct processes would be followed.

If you think that I owe money take me to an Australian court and follow Australian law in doing so!  So why is this not being done? because they have no proof and can offer no clear concise information on this assumed debt.  I owe nothing and have nothing to fear. Mind you that I am only guessing that this is what they are after because no information has been supplied.  If a debt was owed why have I not received any written reminders via mail or email?

My advise to anyone being harrased by these people do not supply them with ANYTHING!! If you are paying them money contact an Australian solicitor or Australian Ombudsman to understand your rights.  If you have already paid the debt is cleared, if paid twice you are entitled to a refund, if you feel you have no debt the onus is on THEM to prove it with methods approved by Australian law.

I rang ge finance to confirm who they "sold" debts to, and confirmed it's transpacific, but not transpacific global services. I try to ring the numbers back this so called company claims to be, but can never be contacted. It's either call failed on the mobile, or opts regrets the number has been disconnected from a landline. I'm assuming these people are posing as a name similar to the real transpacific?? I rang ASIC and they have never heard about them?????  Go figure. I'm now seeking legal advice!!

I have been hassled by these scum for years. Have had requests for all sorts of info. DOB, mothers maiden name, etc etc. i did find a googled site for http://www.baycorp.com.au/ ( and I do NOT say that this company is the problem and do not advocate that they in any way are the people using these methods , this was just a PUBLIC Googled result of a search for Transpacific in the public domain) which seems to be a debt purchaser that buys debt from companies owed money. but what some of these companies do apparently is sell off the debt to another repo company just before the debt "expires" or the credit rating of the person who may and I say MAY owe money is just about to end on the credit report, which used to be 7 years but i think is now 3 years, so that the debt then never expires on peoples credit reports and thus they never are allowed to start again. If you do owe money from the past I highly recomend ggetting a credit report from your relevant state Credit agency and check for identiy theft. Unethical loophole in the law perhaps. Certainly is immoral especially if the debtee is poor, or poor from paying off previous debt. No I dont advocate people not paying off debt but the way this company transpacific, goes about it is abusive, immoral, unethical and overall evil. It used to be GE finance co that did this and thay have either changed their name due to bad publicity or this is an umbrella company under GE Finance. The fact that they use unethical methods to obtain information or pretend to be someone thay are NOT, to me is abhorent and this company deserves the attention of  Fair Trading investigation. I reccomend to anybody receiving these calls refer them to the ombudsman or Dept of fair Trading or the ACCC.
I also have asked these people for itemised paperwork but never get a reply or they quote "privacy Laws" prevent them giving out that information. Well, Privacy Laws work both ways, and if you have NOT recieved paperwork regarding any of this then suggest to them that they will be hearing from your lawyer. A class action by all of the people here ( and anyone else who you know gets these calls) would be a great way to rid us of these scum. Pity Im not a lawyer. good luck guys, they go away for a few years eventually but always seem to come back in a different form. And I have NO debt past or present but still get them calling me. I will however never give out my info and suggest no one else  do either.

Clearly, people can recognize that it's a scam, and spineless people out there are into the whole Identity Theft thing.. So no-one wants to give their DOB out to ignorant Indians over the phone for fear of their details being misused.

    i worked in this company named transpacific. This is debt collecting agency based in india . this agency is the part of GE finance . I request all the people in the australia that we are not  fraud , we are just doing our buisness .You owe money from GE Finance Thats why we cal you .So pls dont get irate . We dont any hard feeling fior anyone ,I know that it might be very frustating for u if we call u again & again , but it is upto your benefit , we help the people of australia to improve the credit report , so I request people to cooperate .

As I understand it, this company is based in Australia but has the calls made from India.

Nothing new, Citibank uses the Phillipines.

The advantage for australians is that these call centres do not know Australian law to well and can be used to advantage.

Trans Pasific buys debr that debt collectors want to sell which means that companies like Baycorp or Credit Corp have found debts to hard to collect on.

Remember that if you have not made any payments on a debt for 6 years and it is not a judgement debt, they are3 not allowed to call you.

If it is close to the 6 years, ask for proof of the debt and one letter saying they have purchased the debt is not proof.

Mate, the law states that you are entittled to written proof of the debt.

Ask for copy of the contract and copy of the 100 points I.D. used.

A good idea is to ask them for their EXTERNAL dispute resolution process.

If they refuse to provide any of the above then report it to ASIC.

This applies to any collection entity either a bank or collection company.

Transpacific is a professional company .....Helped me to settle my debts. They gave me a good rebate and I manage to settle all. They uplifted my Veda listing. Good Job done. I thank the officers .....i did get a release letter from them.

They are indeed professionals !
