obscene messages

called hotel reservation line, planning to make a reservation, wanted the biggest room at the caesars for a bachelor party for his friends. saying bad things about his wife. they are like acting that they're arguing about the vegas trip, i need to ask for the card info that he did gave though i knew that he is just playing the numbers. can't drop the call even i want to. eventually he gave up,  he said i was the nicest rep ever and then hung up. haha. :) he said he's from columbia.

I call came in to my cell phone.  They did not leave a message but it did say was from DC.  When I called back it said to"enter the magic number I am trying to reach".

Just had a call from a man, east indian accent, after reading all the comments, seems he's switched scams, told me I was eligible for visa/master card at an interest rate of 5.99%. he was quite concerned, told me what with all the money I owe, I should really listen to him. Asked him how the he'll he would know that, he started to garble. Yelled at him and told him going straight to the police. called him an
Idiot, & I  don't owe anything to anyone, crikey. Hung up on him. Sure do miss the old phones where you slam them down satisfactorily.

How do you stop these cretins? Our Canadian government won't do anything

The guy called had a thic Indian voice and he new my name

Been harassed by the same guy for about 4 days now. Saying i would be arrested if i didn't pay a loan. Called today 7 times in a row, changing the reason for his call. I have never gotten a loan. Same guy saying he is officer Harry Johnson or Daniel Walker. Calling my phone asking for me or calling my phone and asking for my mother.  Call anywhere between 5-20 times a day. Now hes calling my mothers phone!! Its getting ridiculous.

Tell your parents!! You are under age there isn't anything you can do about it really, accept for telling your parents. They can get involved!!

I just got a call from that number but I didn't answer cause I was there when they called my boyfriend last week.  He said he was calling to fix the computer of the viruses. My boyfriend let him talk a little and after a while my boyfriend told him he knew i was a scam. And the guy started cursing at him. He said: tjust the way you are talking to me right now shows you are not customer service, you are a scammer and i am going to call the police. The guy was cursing again and again......

After exchanging hello hello hello....called sound like a young child.  Told 'him' he had the wrong number, and replied ok and I hung up.  Caller ID Dist. Columbia.

Strange....based on the results of all the other callers receiving calls from this number.

they just called us and started whispering really creepy. something like they were going to kill us

It's likely family or friends playIng a Prank on you. That is the standard voip number that shows up for users calling from the magic jack app.

I just called my phone company and it is a majic jack type of phone, it is used from a computer, I had the # blocked as I was receiving calls at 2:30-3:00 am and getting sick of it. It is all part of a scam, so be careful, and call the local police if it doesn't stop.

Absolutely, lets shut down the service, it seems to be a service designed for scammers to screw us out of money. and I heard from my phone co. that the calls to me originated in texas, not washington dc like the caller ID said

I have a Magic Jack phone and everyone has a different number and if you have call display my number will show up.  You can get a Canadian or an American number, but we all have a different number.

does anyone know how to trace this call to the ACTUAL caller? i know its magic jack and i have a pretty good idea who the culprit is but cant prove it. it is frustrating!!!!

When you first buy a MagicJack, you don't need to register it immediately.  When you register it, you are asked to supply or pick a telephone # that is registered to your MagicJack.  Once a MJ is registered, the telephone number registered to it will appear on your display.  

However, MJ allows you to use the MJ to make calls without registering it. When used this way, 202 239 6000.  

I doubt very much if the caller can be traced.  Could be thousands of people out there playing silly bugger.
