I called the number and my guy sounded like he was from Africa. He said, "This is blah, blah blah and you are being sued due to a miscalculation in your 2014 taxes" I said, "really?? and what is it exactly that you need from me to rectify this situation?" to which he responded, "you owe $2, 714.00 and must pay immediately."  I said, "that's so interesting, who am I ?" he said, "wha????" I said, "do you know who I am?  You never asked my name yet you were able to know what I was being sued for and how much I owed?  interesting..." "M'am I m sorry, your voice is drifting, please call back another time" sure thing

scam IRS law suit threat.

I am 33, and I do not owe the IRS any money. I called them and told them that I was a representative of the IRS and that we were coming for them lol lol the

A recorded message saying that the IRS was engaging me in a lawsuit.

Same thing as everybody else. Called and I answered to hear an automated message started out with "we have been trying to reach you" so I hung up. Then I called back and it rang for a long time and someone with a heavy accent answered and said "Thank you for calling the IRS." This is totally a scam. IRS sends you a letter never calls you.

IRS needs to intervene here - they cant allow some scum to continue with these fake calls.  There are a lot of elderly folks out there who may not realize these are scum bags.  I cant understand why this number has not been blocked.  I'll take first step and call IRS to report them.
