- magJust received a phone call from 2025597648. It was a man named Mike with a foreign accent. He said that he was from the government and that he wanted to give me 9 thousand dollars. I asked for his last name. it was Smith. I kept up the questions and asked what did he need from me. His answer was "I don't need nothing from you. F*** you." I hung up. The first time the number came up and I answered the phone and no one was there but the line was open.
- TinyI received a call from a man with a foreign accent, he told me the gov. is giving money: "to people that is loyal", I said ok. - TinaThey called me and when I answered they didn't say anything for about 15 seconds and then they hung up. Glad I looked up the number and checked out what people are saying as I know this is a SCAM!
- PaulThey call and leave no message
- JimReceived call on my cell phone. Male calls with news that I've been selected to receive a $9000 government grant to use anyway I want (as long as it's "legal"). He spoke in heavily accented English and was obviously reading from a script, as whenever I interrrupted him he had to start that section over. He said that the government had already put this money aside for me in a "Malasian" bank (??)--strange!! Was hard to understand all he said, but did catch that he'd give me a "confirmation number" to use in my claim process and he did say something about needing my credit card for some reason. He said there were 3 ways to claim this money.
I know the feds wouldn't do business like this over the phone, and certainly wouldn't use an overseas bank account to transfer funds. They'd more then likely send a 10 page form to fill out. :-) Anyway, I finally said, "Forget it" when he started talking about credit cards and Malasian banks, and hung up. Nine grand would be great, but this was an obvious scam, texbook almost.- Caller: US Government in Wash. DC (??)
- GUSTI got a phone call from this number saying that I have been granted 9,000 from the government saying they selected my name and number from a drawing , he than said he could put it in my bank account or on my visa or debt card or western union . I than said western union and the call hung up ! for sure a SCAM !
- Caller: 2025597648
- fed upMissed the call, returned it and got message "this number has been disconnected". Damn! I really wanted to give him Scott Walkers (R-Wisc) name. He needs all the money he can get, especially if it comes from out of state sources.
- CARAany of you apply for a loan recently? online especially? or have past due debt ? ,.. they could be calling to make sure you actually exist and the number provided was real.... A friend of mine works at a company similar its pathetic scam ...
- JaySame story here, someone called me stating they had $9000 from a Government Grant for me. Wanted to know if I wanted that transferred to my bank, debt card, or Western Union. The guy couldn't even tell me my name, the phone number he called, an address, or anything! After listening to him fumbling up a few times and him not answering one simple question, I got pretty pissed.
I told him f' off and hung up.
Calling the number back does lead to a "this number has been disconnected" message. Not sure if it is even legit as it is very easy to spoof your ANI (Automatic number identification) aka Caller ID Number.
