I received a call from a person named "David Walter" ,offering me $6000 as government grant money and asking me for $199 refundable security amount.
He said that I am getting this because I have always paid my taxes and bills on time.The fun part is that I am  on a dependant visa and have never paid any taxes and bills on my name.
Also when I said that the address is incorrect he said I think you have a misunderstanding.What rubbish!!!He was literally forcing me to go to the nearest western union and call me from there asap.
Later I browsed thru this site and confirmed that is a big scam.

The phone call I recieved was from a wierd number. But the number I was told to.call back for my grant  was 202-470-4840. Justin Long. I did call it back to see what the deal was but never any mention of me paying anything or western union. They wanted my banking account number and routing number. Is this the new scam??

they call and say that you have been picked from a handful of people in your area to be considered for a 10,000 grant that you dont hve to pay taxes on or ever pay  back.  They repeatedly ask if you "understand these conditions." They do not speak english very well. after she gives you a confirmation number and her "bench ID" which is 72G, she gives you their address: 200 independence ave southwest washington D.C 20201
and also her "senior account managers number" that you have to call in order to recieve your money, the number is 202-280-7382 his name is Jack Black.
They say you can recieve your 10,000 in 45 minutes if you give them your account number or it can be fedex'd to you in 2-3 business days and they confirm your adress that they have on file (which they probably googled)
in order to recieve your money you have to make a donation of 100.00 to a cancer or hiv charity, etc.
It's a scam, once i told him that i googled his name and number and that it was a scam he became very angry. I reported it to the local police. DO NOT give them any bank account info.

I recive same 200 call loking to give me a Gov Grant if i go to walmart and send him 200 dollars i laugh then. hung annyone out there be a ware of those type of scasm,

I have been called by these people and tryed to find some one/ anyone to catch thes people and no one wants to do that so POST THE NUMBER ON FACEBOOK AND TELL EVERYONE TO CALL THEM AT LEAST FIVE TIMES AND CALL THEM EVERY NAME IN THE BOOK!!!!!!    anyone who can hack into a server to find out who this is a REWARD will be paid   202-580-8490

Im responding to your Scam notice. I was also called from 202 470-0635 and told $45,000.would be deposited into my account and I could pick up $5250.00 at Western Union if I sent them $250.00 in cash.Not to tell Western Union that I was picking up a National Grant or else they-Western Union would charge me over $1000.00 for taxes.Whoever heard of WESTERN UNION charging taxes on your money!!! WHAT A SCAM!!!!!!!

I received a call today from a blocked number telling me about some $7000 I was selected for having good credit and having a clean criminal record. This dude has the odd Indian accent!!! They name he gave me was Eric Parker!!!. [***].com!!!. He gave me the same address 200 Independence Ave Washington, DC and this number 202-684-3404 to call his dept manager Anni Johnson so she could put the money in my acct after I gave this fool my info he went so far as to give me a confirmation number. I kept calling and calling but no answer not even a voicemail that's how I really knew something wasn't right. Then I Google the address and a 1800 number came up for the legit place. So I called and the woman told me when the gov give grants away they don't call and ask for all that info. So it was fraud and she gave me these two websites to report and she told me to call my bank and close the acct I sure the hell did...People are so evil it's sad...and they had the nerve to be foreigners...the f*ckin land of free...it's too damn free letting anyone become a citizen or live and work here....SMH!!!

they called me too and the hindu guy gave a name of freakin peter young. i called and filed the sccam wi the gov.

a guy called and said i recieved a grant that is awarded to 15,000 thous people a year. that i was selected. i cant believ this then he refered me to his boss number and it was 202-470-1385. and his number is 62304434520 now it is a changed number with in a few hours. crazy.

I too received a phone call from this scam artist.  A Don Morgan called me first, then the finance manager Justin Long called me back.  From the number 202-470-4840.  Wanted me to go to Western Union to send 120.00 to feed hungry children.  Said I was receiving 7000.00 in government grants.  How can I stop this?

Well I am the most stupid on this site.  I was told I was to get a 1.50o payday loan from phone number 646-915-0666( the 666 should have been my clue!!!  They said I needed to pay $150 western union for verification purposes so because i truly need the money I did it like the biggest fool on this earth.  Then they said they needed another $250 which again foolishly I did it.  I was then told that the loan was on a freeze from the IRS and I believed it because I have been paying a small balance to the IRS they asked for another $350 all of which was to come back with my $1,500 what was I on drugs?  The loan agent said he would pay the $250 if I just send the other $200 this took my entire morning.  then someone got on the phone and said she was from IRS and I lied to them  because I did not send the entiere amount and called me a stupid "[***]" AND HUNG UP ON ME.  I was devastated and then called local law enforcement,FTC Experian and Attorney General.  I tried to get money back and they said if I send an additional $100 cancellation fee they would refund my money or another $200 would give me the loan.  HOW DUMB COULD I HAVE BEEN.  EVERYONE BEWARE.

I got that call yesterday, and they said it was for a $5,000 grant, and Ihave to give him $199 just to get it. I mean good thing I looked this up before I decided to do that. I mean how stupid people can be for scamming people. the number I got was 202-470-1099, and her nam is Michelle I guess. So I'm going to report it.

i received a call from this number and spoke to a man named John Connor who told me to go to western union and to verify through western union.  he told me once i got there to  call 1202-280-2372 and speak to Andy Roger. All american sounding names but the man sounded Indian.  Ridiculous.

what process did you go through?  My daughter just lost her christmas money on this and they want another $700 to send her the "$8350 grant".
