They left a message afl-cio telling about the benefits of collective bargaining. One of the big issues in Michigan.

This number called every 15 minutes last night!  No message seems to be the usual scam.  We finally unplugged the phone to stop this and many, many other harassing calls.

I have gotten 20+ calls from this number in the past week, including 3 calls already today.

What a bunch of [***]. It says afl cio when I called back... that is a union for workers??? Not real descriptive but hey... why are they calling me...

The national unions are not so stupid as to engage in this kind of game. However, the pro-Romney adherents are full of amateur and professional con artists who would invent this kind of thing in order to annoy people and make them into anti-Obamites if the were not already. So you get, as here, a lot of uneducated people starting with such as "I am anti-union. . ." It is called "riling up  the base."

You can call any legitimate union office and you will get someone who works there and will happily answer questions, or an answering machine that will give sensible information to callers. Not the kind of garbage noted in this set of comments. And by the way, I have received multiple calls on my cell phone from this number and I am on the Do Not Call list, and there are only a small handful of people who even know I have a cell phone, much less know the number. This is clearly a computerized operation that no union would waste its scarce funds on.

I am also annoyed by these calls, but people should be aware of the following information on the Do Not Call website:
"Because of limitations in the jurisdiction of the FTC and FCC, calls from or on behalf of political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors would still be permitted, as would calls from companies with which you have an existing business relationship, or those to whom you’ve provided express agreement in writing to receive their calls. However, if you ask a company with which you have an existing business relationship to place your number on its own do-not-call list, it must honor your request."

Have received several calls from this number the past few days. The number they are calling is also on the no call list. Did not leave a message and my caller ID just said unknown.

Same as all previous posts. So far, today, 5 calls. Caller i.d. says "Unavailable". Good thing we have call block on our Panasonic cordless phone.

Keeps calling.  On Do Not Call List, they keep calling!

calling and not leaving a message. this teaches me about giving my phone number to people that knock on my front door. Working America, I think.

12/6/12 @  7:09pm and 6:53pm received calls but did not answer instead just picked up and disconnected before anyone could speak, I am on the do not call list.

Political BS. I was called and the message that was left was from Michigan something or other about a new proposal being talked about.  Good luck getting the gov to stop this when it's the politicians arranging the calls

Funny. This number both rang my wife's cell phone and my home number at the same time. No one was there when she answered. I told her to quit answering if you don't recognize the number especially if the area code is not in our state.

I just got a call from 2029748147.  I let voice mail take it.  They left a message saying they were from some survey company & had a few questions to ask me that would only take a few minutes.  The first question asked if I thought the economy was getting better, staying the same or getting worse.  I was to press 1 for getting better, 2 for staying the same & 3 for getting worse.  I pushed #1.  The recording immediately went back to the beginning & repeated what they had already said.  This happened 4 times.  I finally deleted the message.

Recvd call from this # 202-974-8147  jan 3, 2013  8:19pm cst. Did not answer it. They did not leave a mssg. My phone is on the National Do Not Call registry.

I never said anyone "hounded me" with a telephone #202-974-8147! No one has hounded me in my life. Why is this on the internet? How did it get there? Just outrageous!

I just got a call from this number.  It is a recorded survey.  They've called about every 10 minutes for the last hour!
