- Lisa HarveyThey keep calling me even after I told them they had the wrong number, they told me the name of the person they were trying to reach, the address of the person, and they insisted that I was that person, even though they gave me a man's name, and I'm a woman. Now they are calling me from different numbers, everytime I answer I tell them the same thing, that they have the wrong number. Next time I'm going to ask for his social security number and see if they give it to me...lol they gave me all the info about this person that I asked for. This is pretty scarey, it could have been me they were inquiring about, I wouldn't want someone giving all my personal information out over the phone.
- Caller: Not sure they didn't identify themselves

- clnftz replies to Annoyed! If you are getting these calls on a smart phone, there is a free app that is called Call Control that can block these call. I've been getting calls from this number and others like this and it block them completely!
- RazBe careful of these people!!! Yes they call and call and call. They have all of our family cell phone numbers - same plan (how they got them???).
We received a letter that they were suing us. Lawyer advised to 'answer' that. Meaning, we had to pay court costs to go to court and see what's going on! This took a total of THREE court visits (time, money, gas, etc.).
They couldn't produce any evidence of the debt owed - they need to do that and, honestly, I really don't know what they are trying to collect.
The judge dismissed the case, in our favor, and even granted our court costs to be reimbursed (we asked for that).
Unfortunately, it was dismissed "without prejudice", which means they can file the same thing, all over again. What the heck? The judge wouldn't budge on that. We asked!
The judge did say to keep all the paperwork (wonder why THAT was said? To keep the courts working and money coming in??).
So, the phone calls are starting again. Got one today and answered it. Spoke a different language and the guy hung up on me. Fine! But another family member's phone was ringing right after that.
Just be careful! It's one thing getting annoying phones calls. But, if you get a letter in the mail saying that you are being sued, don't dismiss that! People that didn't show up in court, automatically were responsible for the "supposed" debt.
They are relentless!- Call type: Debt collector
- RazOh! And Portfolio Recovery, if you're reading this................
I am now taking notes and have phone records. Please keep doing what you are trying to do. That will give me more evidence of your harassment toward my family.
I need that for a case against YOU!
Bring it on, please. The more evidence, the better for me. Gonna sue you right back!- Caller: Portfolio Recovery

- Yikes!I love the internet! I'm so glad this page exists! It really helped to put things in perspective.
I just got called from these people about a 15-year old debt that passed the statute of limitations over 7 years ago! I answered the phone and confirmed I was the person they were looking for and told them I was in the middle of teaching a class and to call back. The person on the other end snorted incredulously, "You answered the call in the middle of a class?!" I explained that when you are a parent, any call from an unknown number could be an emergency involving your child. From the looks of it, I guess I can prepare myself for a whole lot of unwanted phone calls in the months to come. Ugh....- Call type: Debt collector
- TCif they're calling your cell phone add them to yur contacts and set the ringer to no ring. They can call all day and all night you never know untilyou check your call log. It works for me and I have the satisfaction of knowing they're wasting their time not mine

- Geaux faye replies to ChrispunishedGet a REAL job, calling numbers and the people you are looking for are not the same. You need to stop and make sure you got the correct person. ALSO, there are LAWS to protect us from people like ya"ll so I think that you need to make sure you have that person and also that there is hours which you CAN NOT call and holidays is one... Don't push your luck !!
- JamesThis is not a number from a so-called debt collector, but from a bunch of international fraudsters. Google "Indian phantom debt collector fraudster" for the truth.
