This number and all others that are similar to the last 3 digits, is used by internet companies as a routing hub for chat applications or virtual companies (that don't have real offices and hence lack real phone systems) to call real telephones (I.E. Skype, etc). If you are making a call from your computer from anywhere in the world to the West Coast USA, it will show up on the receiver's caller-ID as this number, or a number similar to the last 3 digits (I.E. XXX-XXX-X???)...

There is no way currently to block IM/internet chat calls, but it might be possible to black-list anything that has the first 7-digits of this 10-digit block. Your phone company currently won't do it (07/2010) though they have the technology to do so, but there are various physical phones you can use that allow physical blocking of numbers AT your house/office/physical handset/phone location (meaning your private PHONE ITSELF might be able to block these numbers). A side effect of blocking these numbers is that you won't be able to receive calls you MIGHT want from people you do want to talk to, if they try and call you via an internet chat-app (again, like Skype)!!!

For parties that are interested in harassing someone, this is great news. For those who don't want to be harassed, this is a real pain. Anyone can ring your handset/landline/cell phone from the internet and currently there is almost no way to stop or block it (many cell phones have ringer styles you can set up with personal ringers, and any numbers you are not familiar with you could have the ringer be muted or vibrate or even completely silent and let it go to voice mail- some new landline handsets/phones also have this ability, so shop around if you're being harassed, or go completely wireless/cellular -or change your number and get unlisted and remove all your contact information that relates your address/phone number/name/email to each other)

If you have a desktop computer and a modem with an in-out (3 phone jacks), you can route your main phone line through the PC and have the PC block calls from this number and any numbers associated with it... Just a FYI.

I got a call from this number they asked for my bank acc. number

The call that I just now got from this number claimed to be from the Boeing Employees Credit Union, but obviously it wasn't.

Got a call from this number saying my Washington Mutual credit card was compromised and I needed to reactivate.  It is all automated and asked for card #, expiration, and Pin #.  I purposely entered the wrong card information and it still told me that the card was reactivated.

Bogus.

Received a call with a recorded message that my Washington Mutual debit card had been deactivated, press "1" to reactivate.  It then takes you to a recording where it asks you to enter your 16 digit card number.

Got a call from 206-336-7191 asking if someone in our household was diabetic...tried calling back and the call gets dropped.  Definitely a robotic type voice...so guessing it is on a dialer of sort, used by telemarkerters out of the country.

Just got a credit card scam message from this number claiming to be "Mastercard." Automated voice wanted my "sixteen digit card number" because my card had been "locked". Hilarious.

same here! they knew my name and called me at 400 am!!

It's a company that will lie that they can reduce your credit card debt but we know they are lying.  Don't use them!

Received call from 206-336-7211, answered and received no reply after several hellos.  Burning cell time so I  hung up.  Used reverse directory to call from landline and first nothing.  Called back again and received busy signal.  Every time I call I receive busy signal.  Why is MCI Communications calling me? I have no dealings with them.

I just got a call with a recorded message stating this is my last chance to get a lower rate on my credit card(s) if I owe more than 4k and am in good standing. They have sent numerous letters to my address, supposedly, and they wish I had pressed 1 to take advantage of their deal - but I pressed "end".

THIS IS A SCAM CALL.  Do NOT respond.  If you receive repeated calls, report it to your phone company and law enforcement.

4AM call from this number, tried to call it back - no connection "This cellular provider is not.....".

Received hang up on message machine (a physical one that sits on the desk). *69 = 206 336-7211. Same story as many comments above--cannot call number back.

I receive calls from this number at 7:00 am and there is no id of who is calling.  I call the number and the call does not go through.  The number calls as late as 9:30 pm. Again, I call the number back and there is nothing, no answer, no identification at all.

I am getting multiple calls a day from this #. No one is on the phone, and they don't leave a message.
