Got a call today from this number. Answered but nobody was there.

We're on the DNC list (as I am sure everyone else here is). I have received three calls in the last hour from this number.  They ask for my husband, and then hang up before I can get a response.  Most recent call, I told the lady I wanted to speak to a supervisor.  I did not even get the words out before I got that hang up "psshhht" sound their system makes.  I tried calling the number back, and got the "This mailbox is full.  Please wait while we transfer you" before another hang up.
The number appears to be registered to Novatel, who apparently is responsible for the call center these calls originate from.  I sent the following message to them:
To Whom It May Concern,

One of your call centers has been calling random numbers which are in the National Do Not Call registry.  There have been many complaints lodged by myself and others who have been repeatedly harassed by your company for various things.  We ask that you cease these phone calls immediately.  

The number these calls originate from is 210-249-0540, a telephone number registered to your company.  Whenever someone asks to speak with a supervisor, or begins to tell the agent calling that they are on the DNC list and would like to be removed from future calls, they are hung up on with no communication from the agent.  When someone tries to call the number back (their only means of communicating their dissatisfaction with the phone calls), the calls are answered by your automated answering service, which states “The mailbox you are trying to reach is full.  Please hold while we transfer your call”, upon which  the call is NOT transferred, but disconnected immediately.

Because of this behavior, those who have been constantly harassed by these agents have no recourse, no reasonable means with which to communicate their desire to be removed from whatever calling list they have been illegally added to.  I am therefore writing to you on behalf of myself and the countless others who have expressed concern at this immoral and unethical behavior, to ask you to do whatever is within your power to control those who use your name and service.  As your name is the only one we have been able to find, you will be the ones held responsible for this grave misuse of the resources you lease out.


We'll see if they respond, though I doubt it.

You reported that you were having problems connecting to the Internet and I responded with no, I haven't had any problems nor did I call anyone.  Next thing was a a hang up.

From 9-23-08 to 9-27-08 I received four calls from this number. When I answer no one talks, but my phone is showing that they are there.  When I call back there is a message that says the mailbox is full and I am being transferred, finally, I get a message from Verizon that says my call cannot be completed as dialed.

Out of nowhere this number calls.  Called, back and same as Deborah. Mailbox is full yada yada.  People have no lives.

Just received a call on my cell phone from this number.  They asked for my mother (by maiden name), who died in a car accident last November.  The person apologized and told me he was calling in reference to an application for an online school that was sent to an address.  Got the address and it doesn't match mine.  Told him I wasn't sure who gave him the number or address, but that it was not me.

I am based in Singapore and was surprised to receive a call from this number today. I picked up the call, but there was no one on the other line. Did not even bother to call back since I did a google on this number first ... :)

Man with a foreign accent told me that my computer was showing that I had an error through Microsoft.

continued from last message.  I called the number back and it was a company called Novatel (not sure of the spelling).  It was a recording saying that no one from that company called me, but if I received a call from 210-249-0540 and wish to report it that I could leave a message which I did.

This number called me for the second time this evening and I answered it.  After the telltale pause, a guy came on the line and said "your computer has a virus".  Oh really?  How do you know this?  "Your ISP told us."  Oh really?  Who is my ISP?  "I don't know.  But your computer is running slow.".  Is it now?  I think my computer is quite fast.  "Oh no, your computer has spyware and malware and viruses.  For a subscription fee of $10/month, we can take care of it for you".  I amused myself for 7 min sparring with this guy before he gave up and I told him to never call again.  At the end of the day they're trying to sell a software subcription to people that don't need it. I regret forgetting the name of the site/service they wanted me to go to...

Got a call from "Support by Click".  He had a strong East Indian accent.  Claimed my ISP contacted him, saying I was having trouble with my PC.  Claimed my PC was being slow.  Total BS.  I asked him who my ISP is, he said "we deal with many ISPs so I don't have access to that information."  I asked him to confirm who he was and explain how he was asked to call me.  He hung up.

Obvious scam.  Either they were trying to sell me services, or they were trying to get me to open my computer up to them, or...

I received this call this morning. They left no message. When I called the number back you get a message from Novtel saying they are looking into the calls. They asked that you leave the phone number that is being called. If you try to call this number from a land line it will not go through. The operator recording tells you the number is incomplete.

I had the same call about my computer running slow...i was skeptical as its a brand new computer.  I told him if i was interested i would call back.  He kept insisting i buy their antivirus as well as let "the Microsoft expert" in to fix for me...AS IF!!!

Soon as i got him off the phone i looked it up...what a scam!

They knew my name -- told me they had received information "from my computer" that it was running slowly and I needed help fixing it.  I asked how they got the information -- they said through a pop-up.  VERY strange.  I hung up on them.

I have a new dell   anyone else have a dell that got a call from these people about their computer running slow?

I awnserd about 10 minutes agoa nd they asked if they can speak to my mother and i said she's at work if this is a telemarketer plelase remove the number from your list
She had a forign accent
and then she said my name...idk how she knows it but she asked if this was bryce
and i told her Yes
SHe told me im a [***] [***] peice fo [***] and then hung up on me

Not only did they know my moms name
But they Knew mine..........
i wanna know exacly how much information do they really have about us?
if they know my name when they are acalling for my mom.......

only 1 person i know is from texas and she's a EX and i hate her and its visa Versa so i was sure it wasnt her

but idk   if these ppl call back i am deffenatly goign to report to the police
or sumthing to get the phone disconnected
I can take up a harrassment lawsuit for them Cursing me out on the phone
just need to find the company

cant anybody help maby i can scare them with a lawsuit and make them disconnect the phones :P
