I don't have a Wachovia account. I get calls from this number 2x a day. If I answer, no one is there. It is not a collection call as some others have stated. It's just annoying.

This number showed up several times before I answered to ask to be removed from their calling list. The woman was extremely agressive, demanding that I confirm my name. Since then that number shows up at least 8 times a day, at random times(even late at night). Apparently I have no way of blocking the number from my cell:(
Just another reason we should all be happy that Wachovia no longer exists! Hopefully some bad karma will befall the evil people making these calls:)

It's not a legit call about a mortgage, they are calling asking if you are having trouble paying payments - if they would look at the loan history they would see I've never been late in several years, then they ask how the payment is being made (from a paycheck, unemployment etc), if we are having financial difficulty...it's annoying, unneccessary and none of thier business!

I wish someone from World Savings/Wachovia would call me,
IRS advises a 1099C was issued for my mortgage balance in 2006.
I gave up my home to them because I have cancer. I was paid 500.00 by World Savings to help me with moving expense (thanks). I gave up the home in October 2006 and it sold December 2006 at 18,600.00 more than my mortgage balance- yet World issued a 1099C for the mortgage balance. IRS intends to collect the income tax on this balance. I have proof of the public sale- but IRS says it is up to World Savings to correct the 1099C. Wachovia gave me a fax number and I faxed everything to them. Wachovia states there no phone number and no one will get in touch with me. I am still disabled and cannot pay IRS but they will take my Social Security check to pay this. I don't owe this as a profit was made. I left the home in move-in condition- an agent did a walk through as a condition of the 500.00 moving expense check. Can anyone help?

Are you kidding me?  World Savings sold out to Wachovia which got bought by Wells Fargo.
So why are they identifying themselves as World Savings or Wachovia????

World Savings??  Really??  World Savings got bought by Wachovia which was bought by Wells Fargo.
(And now  lawyers all want a piece of the class action against World Savings/Wachovia/Wells Fargo.)   So why do the callers keep identifying themselves a s World Savings, and continue to call 4-6 times a day starting at 8 am until 10 pm???

All you have to do is register your phone number with the "National Do Not Call Registry", https://www.donotcall.gov/ - Yes, it can be a cell number or home number. I believe you have to give it a week but ater that you should't be bothered. In the event they keep calling, just tell them your registered with the National Do Not Call Registry and to stop bothering you. If they continue just go to https://www.donotcall.gov/ and file a complaint. They will handle it from there and most likely whoever is calling will be fined... Good luck!

I also got a call from now arrases...saying I was late and arrases me on my mortgage payment.. They also said our conversation is to be recorded.....I explained have always payed within grace period and have never missed a payment... the caller explained to me that was correct and if I did not have payment on due date , Wachavivia has the right to call for collections... I asked her if we have ever been late passed grace period ,,,she would not answer... I replied at this point I would like to talk to a supervisor and I am now recording this conversation....her reply is I could not record and she would not put me to a supervisor...You know I really have never missed a payment on my mortgage (originally World Savings) ..this really pisses me off!...I really will send a letter to my congressman ...and I have three congressmen as tenants... I would like to put the screws to Wells-Fargo parent co.

What about those of us who don't have mortgages and get these calls? That's because i haven't paid the mortgage i don't have? Legitimate is not the word for it. Scam is the word.

I have missed 3 calls today from 210-543-4000 and no messages were left. Now that there is evidence that this may be a scam, I now will continue to ignore this number. Thank you for your postings.

Multiple calls from this number, 210-543-4000.  I never answer, as I know no one with this number, and they never leave a message.  My mortgage is always paid within the grace period, never late, so after reading other people's experiences, I'm glad I haven't answered!

Wow! I have experienced everything there is to experience with these people (Wachovia who supposedly no longer exists, but continue to receive mortgage statements from them) also, have always been within the grace period, contacted them when I was in trouble of defaulting, husband off and on work and my in and out cancer surgeries, trying to talk and work something out, I figured, because I was always making efforts on my payments, never being late, have routinely gotten the crappy customer service from all their reps, first they appear to want to help, oh yea, send us all your documents, with all your personal information, and only after doing so (3X exactly) Oh, we are sorry, you are not in the dire need category we consider dire need?  WTH? Are the kidding? You do everything to stay on top of your financial debt and when you are only asking for a short term fix or how else can you assist us in meeting both our needs, they flat out DENY you any help.... You dont want to short sell lose your home, but, in the end, I guess it might happen, and Wells Fargo? They don't even acknowledge that they are affiliated with Wachovia.... Did anyone get a gift card from Wachovia? What was that all about?  Hush Money?
