In my case, they did not hang up on me.  There was a recording that identified the call as a "survey."  I know that real surveys (as by J.D. Power, for example) do not use recordings; so I knew immediately that it must be a solicitation for business masquerading as a survey.  I assume that the "do not call" list does not apply to legitimate surveys (which are extremely important to both government and industry) and that's why fake surveys are proliferating.
 I went along with the "survey" to see where they would switch to a sales pitch.  Actually, it was done very well (for the seller) because the questions allowed the computer to weed out non-likely buyers.  I, on the other hand, tried to give all the right answers (I even said that I was a woman, even though my voice cannot be remotely mistaken for a woman's.  For some reason, telemarketers tend to prefer women, another form of gender discrimination.  But my wife and I have noticed that callers hang up on me much more frequently than on her).
 Well, at the end, they told me that I qualified for two free back-straightening sessions.  All I had to do is give them my name and address.  Fat chance!  I gave them a random name and address and hung up.
 Actually, I was rather disappointed.  These people are getting sneakier by the day.  Usually, at the end of such a call, they put on a real person.  That way, I can, at least, increase their costs a little by making their employee waste some time.  Not this time!
 When I tried to call them back, not surprisingly, a recording told me that their mailbox was full.  That's how I got to this site.  I am still searching for an actual company name, so that I can call them, talk to a real person and make that person waste some of his/her work time.

In California.  Got a call today.  Have no idea who this is but am going to report on Do Not Call site as a complaint.

Well, my strategy of giving "good" answers paid off.  (See my posting from yesterday).  I received a call back from them.  It turns out that the "American Spinal Care Association" is a group of chiropractors that use this technique to drum up more business.  The caller was looking for the woman I pretended to be in answering the survey (I had given a fake name, of course, by they had my correct phone number because they had called it in the first place).  I told them that she was not available at the moment, and asked for a phone number where she could call back.  The number is: (732)741-1000.  You may enjoy calling them to let them know how much you appreciated their telemarketing call.

Answered call from this number at 7:41pm PST on 12/12/07. No one was on the other end.

HAve received numerous call from this number and they hang up when i answer..

Someone from the phone number 215-717-8871 keeps calling my cell phone number, but I won't answer because I don't recognize the number and don't want to be charged minutes for the call.

I went to their website, americanspinalcareassociation.com, got their address and fired off a letter.  Let's load up their mailbox with letters, maybe they'll quit calling.  I too am registered on the do not call list and am filing a complaint with them.

I don't have caller ID but I don't pick up from my answering machine. This call came in at 8:10pm on Tue 12/18/07 with no msg. *69 gave me the number 215-717-8871.

Nobody replied when I picked up the phone.  Very annoying.  It is a waste of time and an annoyance.  Can they be tracked down and shut down.

This number has been calling me at least 4 - 6 times a day every weekday! I am on the no call list! STOP CALLING!

Get this call once a week usually...today I'm up to 3 times already and its not even noon here yet.  Called back and vm was full.  When I answer, no one responds.  It's calling my office phone so whatever...

same as everyone else - call came up as "Philadelphia PA" on caller ID. Was on other line so didn't answer. No message. Looked it up on google because my son just happens to be flying to PA today and thought it might have something to do with his trip. We are also on do not call list, so will report.

Someone has been calling my home number multiple times during the day. Tonight, they called at 8:05p.m. est. When I answered, I heard several clicks then they hung up. This is so fustrating.

Stop calling, I'm not going to answer anyway.

We are getting a call from this number every day & are pretty fed up.   We are on a no call list as well.

Received a call from this number on my home phone number - but when called back the voicemail box is full and cannot accept any new messages.  So still don't know who this is...assume its a personal phone number since mailbox is full.
