Came back to my desk to find this number listed on my cell phone, no message left.  Blocked the number I was dialing from and called them back.  No answer, it just rang and rang and rang. I do not appreciate phone solicitations from telemarketers on my cell phone as I do not appreciate someone eating up my valuable minutes.  My cell phone is on a do not cal registry so why doesn't it work???

There still random dialing with no one responding when you answer. Thanks to this site, I used the link to add my cell to there "do no call" list... hopefully it will stop within the 24 hours they claim it may take !!!

Some information for new people to this thread

    -------------------
Are you wondering why you received a call from SQM Group from phone number 250-260-3907?

It is because we are calling you to conduct a short customer satisfaction survey about a recent call center experience that either you had or someone else had using your phone number.

SQM Group is not a telemarketing organization. We are a customer satisfaction research organization that conducts customer surveys on behalf of major organizations' call centers.

You're only on our calling list because you called a company for technical or customer support. Those companies in turn give us your phone number so that we can place a customer satisfaction survey to you to gauge that companys customer service in an effort to improve it.

If you check the page http://www.sqmgroup.com/clients.html you will most likely see a company that you recently contacted for support. We don't just pick random numbers to call, we only call numbers that are specifically supplied to us by a company that you use.

    Dear SQM - screw off
Ryan, it wouldn't be so bad if there was an actual human on the line when you called. These constant hang-ups are the problem. I am sure SQM is charging their clients for these 'calls' just as if they had conducted an actual survey (at $$5 to $$10 per call, according to the website!)

I believe the CRTC regulates how many hangups an automated dialling operation can do. These 19 pages of complaints show quite clearly that SQM is in violation of those rules and is creating ill-will for the customers of their clients.

    Fido cell
I just got a call on my cell phone from this number, which I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. I tried to ring the number back, but there is no answer, or it is busy. I am on the national do not call list, so am not sure what it is all about.

Rogers is one of SQM Group's clients, therefore it wasn't a coincidence, it was procedure. If you don't want to be surveyed, visit the link Thom posted (http://www.sqmgroup.com/donotcall.html) and you will not be surveyed in the future

The National Do Not Call List only restricts telemarketers from being allowed to call. SQM Group is not a telemarketing firm, they are a customer satisfaction research firm designed to help call centers improve their customer service.

    Cutter replies to Ryan
    Well Ryan,

Your predictive dialer sucks. Any dialer that automatically hangs up is not configured properly. Nor is one that hangs up if someone answers with anything other than "hello" or "hi".

I laugh at people that have PDs configured like this. As I have worked in the Call Centre industry for 20+ years and have configured such software/hardware, when I get a call like this, I must laugh.

Surely in today's market, you can hire someone (like a 12 year old after school) to set up your dialing system - unbelievable.

On top of that - the 5 minute surveys that SQM says, are never 5 minutes. Our company uses SQM and the script is to say 5 minutes, because if you tell a customer that it will be any longer, they will not participat.

Just wondering why the anonymity - why not reveal yourself on caller id?
