Keeps calling I have told them repeatedly to leave me alone please help

I get at least 5-6 times a day. Really annoying.

I have received non-stop calls from this number, which I believe is a collection agency by the name of "Stokes and Clinton."  I finally got ahold of these people, they said they were looking for someone with the same last name as me.  I told them they had the wrong number.  Then, a moment later, my landline phone rings.  Guess who?  Yup, "Stokes and Clinton."  

If all they do is call anyone with the same last name as the person they're looking for, I can imagine what life must be like if your name is "Smith."

I am so sick of this company calling my house!  They kept calling for my husband 4 times a day.  He speaks to them then they ask about me!  WTF?  So I get on and they only want my husband.  I got a letter from them.  For some bill at a hospital that was 7+ years ago for around 40 dollars?  WTF AGAIN?????  I had insurance and it was paid, I should know I worked for the insurance company.  Regardless...why are they allowed to continously call.  Sometimes they will call 3 times or more in a row! Is ther something we can do about this?  They are calling from Mobile Alabama, I am in Florida.  THey are not attorneys neither.  If you received a letter it clearly states that.  A bunch of BS!

They call at least 10 times aday when you answer they breathe and then hang up.They start at about 7am and continue all day.

They call twice a day, when atiendo, is a recorder that gives a number to return the call, without saying why should I call? or who are

These people are harassing me - I have asked them several times NOT to call me. I wish they would be reported to the BBB.

251 460 2400 only alows you to leave messages then they wont talk to you directly they just allow their number to apear on your caller id they leave machine messages saying they are to collect a dept with out a disclosed amount this guy an aterney suposedly ben stokes the 3rd in alabama mibil has said that he backes them all the way bay area credit these people including stokes has changed their adress more than i can count their not getting a penny from me for some medical unpayed bills i dont think they are who they say  they are and the most disderbing thing is this lady from stokes offices left a mesaage on my phone saying that shes actually a distant family member of mine that shes from south africa and that shes tring to work out a deal from the south africa west congo bank of south africa that i sould give her money and that i will get a pesentage even more than her back the same thing with bay area credit left me messages just the same they need my money for a south african bank and i will get more back if i can just give them american curiency ,that i will receive 900 dollar sometimes 1900 back then some of them say their colecting a dept too ,i dont get it this is difenitly fishy and they need to stop>:;'"stop>,:;{[stop/:;'"...!

I have read through these posts and I am currently paying off not one, but two hospital bills which my insurance did not pay.  Luckily, the amount totals about 800.00.  Now, here is the thing.  I set up a payment plan and I walk my payment in, on time.  I have been doing this since December of 2011.  Even though I have paid on time guess what? I still get calls from them and I say, "I am on a payment plan.  Why do you keep calling me when you have this in your records?"  They then say they will take me off but the calls keep coming in.  

At first, I told them what I could pay per month and I was threatened with the schpeal about "taking me to court" but once I mentioned that we could go and the judge would see I was in financial distress AND tried to at least pay them something per month, the ruling would possibly be in my favor.  Also, when you speak to these people and they start reading their script about "this call can and maybe recorded", do not hesitate to say that you are recording the call as well.  A lot of their threats will diminish and in the State of Alabama, one does not have to say they are recording.  Make sure you write down, at the very least, the arrangements you have made, what was said, date/time, etc... and DON'T forget to ask for the person's name and extension.  Finally, ask them to put it in writing and mail it to you.  If it gets too bad there are cease and desist letters of writing on the internet.  Google 'cease and desist letter+example'.  

Yup, this is what the economy has come to.  Banks charging serious overdraft fees, debt collectors asking you to rob Peter in order to pay Paul, and paranoia setting in on a daily basis for the little people who are struggling to stay afloat.  There are rules that they must follow and harassment can be and should be reported.  Take the time to do it! I have and I hope that if enough of us come together then this will stop.  If they had it their way, none of us would be buying any groceries in order to pay what the high insurance costs per month, should have taken care of in the beginning.

Stokes and Clinton issue firstly, you must evoke the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act by sending a certified letter. Look on line and google FDCR. secodly, file a complaint if they continue to call after you sent them the letter wit the Federal trade Commission. Thirdly, contact you State Attorney General and file a complaint. fourthly, Pursue legal action against Stokes and Clinton as others have. there are lawyers out there who would love to get some money out of Stokes and Clinton. Lastly, read read read online as the answers are there for you. simply google how to write a fair debt collection practices letter. Learn the debt relief law and you will succeed.

I called this number and was given 800-882-7330 ext 146, and told to ask for J. Collins, a nasty little woman came on the line, wanting me to give her information about myself, but refusing to answer any of my questions, so I just hung up the phone,  also they claim to be an attorneys office.

I keep getting calls from them, they tell me to call them back and give them my phone number and name to see if im the person they are looking for, they don't even ask for a certain person. everyday they call with the same message. I couldn't here the law firm name

Just established a Skype app and number 24 hours ago and this company called and left a message via Skype.  This is a new number and not tied to me at all so this call wasn't for me...no idea why they are calling

I live in the 251 area code, and I received my first call from Stokes & Clinton, 251-460-2400, this morning.

The human caller left a voice mail message. The person calling did not identify themselves, but said they were calling for Stokes & Clinton, a general practice law firm regarding a debt collection. In the message they stated they wanted to identify the person associated with my phone number for debt collection purposes. This "law firm" comes up in Google as being located in Mobile, AL.

In my opinion, any decent attorney would say this sort of voice mail message is unprofessional for a any law firm, whether they are involved in debt collection or not.  I am pretty sure that Stokes & Clinton is employed by, associated with, or actually is one of the identities assumed by the debt collection conglomerate McCarthy, Burgess, and Wolff in Cleveland, OH.  MBW has called me every day for 8 months, over 150 times, after I refused to pay a fraudulent bill from Citrix.com. MBW uses a variety of tactics, including using a 251 area code in the caller ID to disguise that the call originates in Ohio. So this all adds up.

I am going to determine if Stokes & Clinton is a legitimate law firm or simply MBW using a false identity. However, I would not be surprised to find that there is a lawyer, or several of them, in Mobile, AL who are desperate enough to work for MBW. I would expect that MBW gives them a "Manual of Manipulative Methods" to use to scare and intimidate people. They know most normal people do not have the resources to fight companies like MBW and Citrix, which seem to have the upper hand in the legal system.
