These filthy scum sucking pieces of sh*t called 2 of my cell phones that are in completely different area codes within 5 minutes of each other.

The FCC has temporarily halted 7 minor unprofitable boiler rooms who will receive a slap on the wrist and be back at it within a few days. In the meantime the calls will continue since they are making money with what is called a CNAM revenue-sharing program through companies like http://www.telephonemanagement.net and http://www.CallerID4U.com
In their own words:  'Every day your company makes thousands of outbound phone calls. Every one of those calls generates revenue for many companies, why not yours? Our CNAM revenue-sharing program helps you make money every time a Caller ID request is made by a phone carrier. A high-traffic call center can lose hundreds to thousands of dollars a day to phone carriers by allowing them to charge for access to your own data.'

You can now see why the criminals keep calling even though they know you won't fall for their scam. They are making money even if you don't answer the phone. If someone does make the mistake of answering the phone and falling for their con then it is just icing on the cake for them.

What To Do When You Get an Illegal Robocall; http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/robocalls
    1.    Hang Up. Do not press 1 or any other numbers to get off the list and NEVER call them back
    2.    Consider blocking the number or on a cell phone add it to a contact list and assign NO ring tone
    3.    Report it at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
    4.    Report it at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov
    5.    People should continually file complaints with their Attorney Generals office
Register your phone numbers online at http://www.donotcall.gov or call (888) 382-1222 (must call from # you want removed).

There is a blog site that has information on one of these operations:     http://telemarketerspam.wordpress.com

I understand everyone's irritation, but from the crooks point of view a response means that the number is "live". I have been on the DNC list for years and I still get calls. I have filed many many complaints and they keep on coming. I set my default to "no ring" and assign rings to my contact list. If a call from a strange number is important, they will leave a voice mail. So far, this has worked well for me.

The reason the DNC list isn't effective here is because though they use an American number, the "company" (scammer group) is not based in the US. It's based in India, and the violation of calling means nothing to them.

Just save number as a CONTACT as "SPAM".
Then for that contact , just find the button for EDIT that contact , and choose to SEND ALL CALLS FOR THAT NUMBER DIRECTLY TO VOICEMAIL.
They dont leave voice mails, and at least you wont hear the phone right.

For any other SPAM phone numbers you receive  , add them to this contact as secondary phone numbers . You can add many phone numbers to your new contact named SPAM.  NONE of the numbers you add will ring your phone.

Its been my experience that the crooks are always coming up with new spoofed numbers. No use in adding these numbers to any list as they will hit you with a new one down the road and you will have a long list of useless numbers. May as well set your default to "no ring" and lower your blood pressure. I find that respinding to a ring is more irritating to me than seeing that number on my "missed calls" list. An important caller will leave a VM.

called the first time. 10:19 AM feb 5,2013.  pressed 1 - [***] answered & I told him you SOB's leave me alone.  he hung up.  Then at 2:47 PM same day, called again.  pressed 1.  nobody answered - got dial tone after a few seconds.  This Do No Call List is a big farce.  I've been on it for quite some time but still keep getting calls from different numbers.  I reported one a few months ago, gave them the number, address where the telephone company was located in Waltham, ND (58 miles south of Fargo, ND), even gave them the address of this dispatcher building.  These telephone companies are just as guilty as the callers for allowing automatic dialing programs to exist.  Of course, they're money leeches too just like any other utility company & they're goind to keep selling these programs for their own revenue.  The Feds should go after these companies that do this, but, you know, they might be in on it too.

They don't answer once I take the call. This is being done just to annoy us. Like a virus. Eventually it will be outlawed. Have either a whistle or air horn ready, don't give them a chance by saying a word, and give it to them immediately. They're not interested in anything but bothering you.

"Credit Card Services" -- in other words, a scammer trying to get your credit card number so they can rip you off. Filed a complaint at the FTC about this (though they do not appear competent to do anything!) and recommend that you do the same.

Getting a call from this number about the same time the last few days. Haven't answered it and no message is left. Figure it's some scam.

I get them all the time from around the nation. I have included my name on the do not call list and if they are calling with recorded message, they can be reported for that regardless of your status on the do not call list. m

another interest on your credit card scam. I do not answer strange area codes, then I put them on the reject call list on my phone. ends that.

    Damn Mad
I've been on these same type of calling lists for over a year now. I can block the number, but it keeps changing. I have:  put myself on the do not call list, reported each number, asked to be removed from their lists, been hung up on, been spoken rudely too and even reported these calls to the government sites available. There is nothing that anyone is doing about these and I'm DAMN MAD now.

I am just sick of this number that calls me everyday with nobody on the other end.  When I call it back, it says it is no longer in service.  I reported it to the Do-Not-Call-List and they don't do anything.  I have been using the Do-Not-Call-List to report a punch of numbers that call me, but they simply don't do anything.  It is a complete joke.  Regardless of me putting unknown as my name, something still has to be done since there is a lot of complaints about this particular number.  I want to see how legit this website is....https://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/2517251770#commentForm

I agree, but if I talked to everyone that calls I'd never get anything done.  I've had nine calls today all before 2:pm and now it's time for the dinner time calls to start!

I've done similar things a few times....like answering the phone and asking them to hold on, someone's at the door and they say SURE!  Then I put the phone down and never go back.  It backfired once...the guy called every 15 minutes for days.  No bother, I just turned the phone off and told family to call my cell if they needed me.

Lately I've been putting 2 phones together (ear to mouth/mouth to ear) and the loud squeal makes them hang up right away.

Sometimes I just start talking about the flat tire we had, or how much gas and diesel is these days.  Boy do they hang up quickly.

I'm with you...bug the hell out of 'em!

I receive calls from this number and two others approx. twice a week.  The phone rings and it is a recorded message regarding a credit card about to expire... I do not have credit cards so I know it's a scam. The recording says press #1 to find out more.  When I press #1 and ask which company it is, they hang up.  If you call back, the number is not in service.  The call I just received was from the same company, different #.  I pressed #1 and I told the person not to hang up and to put me on their no call list.  I was told, " Fuc* you [***]... you didn't ask nicely so I won't put you on the list.  Then I was told I could, "suc* my di**.. I was a [***]* [***]... go ahead and try to find out where I am.... on and on... I am so pissed.  I will do anything to find out who they are and who he was.
There are 3 numbers they call from
770-733-7690, 313-347-8168 and 251-725-1770.... Help me find them....
