- Hey Phil replies to PhilWhy dont you tell me how your company does sales??? OH wait you would have no idea you sit in the back and think this all happens by magic, well someone has to get out there and make your paycheck dont they it is the same way at Zones!
- Huh replies to Phil| 2 repliesYOU must be the guy that has all dell just like most everyone on this post I bet. People who buy dell are cheapos and that is the truth period...... No if, and's, or but's that is the truth..... I am sorry to hear that you have been harrassed perhaps you can file a complaint or perharps you can have the number changed since you are such a brilliant IT guy you should be able to think of something... Hey remeber your the guy who saved your company so much money by buying dell, that was inventive,, wasnt it???? I am not trying to be rude by saying all you have to do is tell them you have no money and that your a cheapo that is what will truly work they will likely not call you any more
- RealITGuyI'm disappointed at the lack of grammar skills exhibited by some of the commentaries in this thread, but this isn't a creative writing forum, so it's okay. Since I'm taking a stress break, I figure I'll submit a comment about this number (maybe later I'll come back to read my own comment to stroke my ego.) At any rate, there's no point in complaining about a number as such-- I find it very easy to ignore all calls that come to my office phone and look them up later for legitimacy on this site. I have gotten quotes in the past from Zones, feeling that I do have a fiscal responsiblity to make sure that I'm getting the best combination of price and service from my resellers and partners. While always courteous, they've never been able to beat my current preffered reseller. However, I try to do my part and let the rep know that their pricing fell short and even provide a chance to dig deeper. Since I do support all aspects of corporate operations here, I also empathize with the importance of selling activities for a profit-driven organization. So, I'll let them call and in about 3 months I'll do another review of suppliers when I have a sizable project up for bids. Who knows, maybe Zones will beat out the rest next time.

To work for. And they are just doing their jobs really..
You may be pleasantly surprised when you talk to someone - Donald| 1 replyI used to use Zones, but they were quick to downtalk the competition. Many times I heard them say really nasty things about Dell, CDW and Newegg. Those being their primary competitors, I can't say I'm suprised, however, the problem is that they lie about their competitors. I started using Newegg about a year ago to buy pretty much anything IT I need. They have not given me any reason to stop using them. The price, the ease of purchase, and everything has been excellent up to this point. Their returns section is a little to be desired, but its not something that I worry about. I stopped using Zones because they started getting greedy and slowly raising their prices and trying to sell me more and more expensive stuff as we continued doing business.

- Hey Donald duck replies to DonaldThere is some funny things about what you say.... First off Zones is one of the largest Dell resellers out there so I am not sure who was bad talking about them as we sell more than most other vars so the rep must have been an idiot or you must not be telling the truth either hmmmm. Second I never complain about new egg I have used them myslef because New egg is a consumer site not a business site, try going on new eggs website and configing a 9tb fiber san and see were that gets you. Zones focus is on major projects to help our clients with innovative solutions, we just carry everything in order to make it convenient to our clients so I am assuming that you have a tiny IT shop as no enterprise is going to be buying all their hardware and software from egg.
- Rebecca WhiteI have been getting repeated, annoying calls from this company. I just spoke to "Taylor" who said he couldn't remove me from their calling list unless I told him how many computers we have. Ridiculous. I told him I cannot disclose any information about the company, and he said that he has a job to do, the job is to call people, and he can't remove my number from their list because "it's a computer program" that is generating the list. I told him that by not removing us he's just wasting both of our time, which he seemed to think was hilarious. I feel bad for anyone who actually has to deal with this company on a professional level.

- not interested replies to la diwhy are you defending unsolicited sales people. Anybody can find better prices online, these people don't offer anything that any other company doesn't offer. And just cause they're calling doesn't mean they offer the best price. They're calling because they want to "sell" you their product and service. Most people don't need or have the time to be "sold" on something that they already have, even if it will save them something, which usually isn't worth the time it takes to deal with the salespeople.
- Tired of Zones calling. We have a very small business here and we buy things as needed. Monitor or mouse breaks, get a new one, so we are not what you would call a steady stream of income for one of these reseller companies. These people keep calling and calling and calling, and we have asked them numerous times to stop. Guess what? These people keep calling back, like we don't know what we are talking about. As far as being a "cheapskate", drop it! Are you really that stupid to think that I have to buy something every time we answer the phone that you are selling? We would be out of business in no time flat! Oh, you have a server on sale this week! Wow, we'll take 5! Laptops too!!! I will take 30! Never mind the fact that you do not need what they are selling, they want you to buy it all.
They are like the guy at the bar who keeps asking a girl to go home with her, even after she has said no multiple times. Who would deal with people like this? I go out of my way to NOT deal with people like this, and will never use them, no matter what the cost. They call after I tell them to stop, what would they do if I ever bought something from them? I cringe at the thought.

- ShannonI agree with all the haters here. If you politely ask a company to stop calling you, then they should. It does not matter how good they are or what they offer. They should respect the person on the other end of the line. I would not do buisness this company even if they were the only company in the world who sold a given product.

- IT MgrMost current phone call from Zones:
Her "Hi (my name), how are you today?"
Me "Fine, who is this?"
Her "(her name) with Zones, I respect that you want to stay with CDW but I'm wondering if your account rep there has explained what is happening in Taiwan to you" (massive flooding currently)
Me "No, what does that have to do with you?"
Her "Well, the cost of hard drives is going up due to the flooding.."
Me "Seriously, that's a reason to switch? Bye." Click.
I just added the number to our phone system's directory so everyone will know who it is and may blacklist them altogether.- Caller: Zones, Inc.

- IT ManagerYes the company is Zones, and yes they do suck. Try to avoid them at all costs even if you do give them some of your business they are terrible with their follow through, it is like once they have your money they suddenly vanish until you have more money.
I wish they would just go out of business and just stop calling.- Call type: Telemarketer
- G. Away replies to just answer your phoneI didn't ask for these calls so don't tell me it's rude to not answer them. If I don't see the name of someone I know on caller id I don't pick up - period. Zones will never get any business from me under any circumstances. I vote with my dollars and my vote is that these guys are a holes. The sooner they go out business the better.
- IT Pro| 2 repliesAnnoyed me for months, finally I let them give me a quote on a few things I was about to order from CDW, and it was a large assortment(software licenses, hardware, specialty items). Zones could not beat CDW on a single price, and not only that, CDW gives us free shipping on any order, Zones couldn't.

- Noelle replies to IT ProDoes anyone really want to do business with a company that's so desperate they have to post fake praise on phone harassment complaint websites?
- Real IT Pro replies to HuhSays the guy trying to sell software licenses $200 over what CDW offers. And what is wrong with Dell? Dell has some of the best prices with some of the best warranties out there, I can have a Dell tech out to replace any piece of hardware SAME DAY, under our current contract. Apparently you don't know anything about the IT industry.
