- MattI just got a VM from this # and it said that a temporary freeze had been put on my employment development department debt card...only I dont have an employment development department debt card.
Scammers are so stupid. In this day and age of high speed internet andposting sites like this it still amazes me that people fall for htis crap.
Any call that you get from someone claming to be from a bank that is asking for your PIN or full card number and digits from your SSN is probably bogus. If in doubt hand up and call the number listed on your card or banks website and a CSR cn look up if you have been contacted.
Most banks now oonly call with automated services, so a real person on the other end of the line should be a HUGE red flag. - S.KJust got 3 calls from that number, but didn't pick up.
- Margaret replies to KelseyThis has happened to us twice today. Once on my husband's cell phone, and once on my cell phone tonight. We bank with B of A, unfortunately, but don't have any such card. I think it needs to be reported to the abuse department. Tis the season!
- I don't bank with B of AYah I was woken up at 130 in the morning by this number. I let it go the first time, but the second time I picked up. It was talking about a bank of America account being frozen or something. So I proceeded to see what was going on and then it asked to punch it my 16 digit account. That's when I was like wait. This doesn't seem right. So I hung up. Then I started to panic, asking myself whether or not I had opened one and i forgot about it or if someone else opened one using my info then I had to bring myself back out of panic mode and remember. Dude, I don't even bank with B of A
- Caller: ??Bank of America with a 300-0???
- ESame thing this morning. Didn't know phone number 3000 so I sent it to Voicemail. After listening to the voicemail 5x I figure it didn't sound right. I don't even know what an Employment Development Debit Card is and It never even said a bank name.
- tech dudethis is a Phishing Scam targeting out of work people receiving unemployment benefits, which are now dispersed by Bank of America on a debit card.
- Caller: scammers
- anonThis is totally messed up. scamming unemployed people! it's just sick.
- Caller: "Bank of America"
- justinReceived 3 calls this morning myself. Found this forum which comforted me as I have a private number but also found another posting stating it is from government employees who are in a position where there phone number is untraceable and cannot be given out to anyone.
- Vanessa| 1 replyJust received a call from this number too saying it was Bank of America's internal employment debit card, or something to that effect asking for me to enter my debit card number. I entered a bunch of random 1111111's just to see what would happen and it hung up.
SCAM - OAS replies to VanessaReceived a 300-0 phone this morning at 4:22am (PDT). I let it ring - no message left. I like your idea of the 1111's. Thanks for these emails - suspicious.
