If you did not subscribe and you have been charged you need to contact Phonepayplus (http://www.phonepayplus.org.uk/) who are the regulator for premium rate services, just out of interest, the shortcode 3030 IS owned by EE http://www.phonepayplus.org.uk/Number-Checker/Check-a-Number-Results.aspx?ncn=3030

Bought a mobile 4G dongle for receiving internet in caravan. On my first bill I noticed horoscope texts once a day, at 17p/txt + VAT, from the day I activated the dongle. I had not subscribed to anything. I phoned EE who said they would phone back shortly. Heard nothing. Phoned again, which is when told to text 'stop' to the 3030 number. We shall see if that works.

Been having these texts from T mobile for weeks - rang them and they stopped them - no apology no refund - then today they started again - this is fraud- if you get them complain to their CEO and Ofcom, the more complaints they get they may actually do something.  They said they stopped again and it was an accident - like hell it was you scam artists

My mum has been getting these messages without knowing she was being charged. She didn't realise until all her credit (£50) until it had gone without her sending any messages or making any calls. Really annoyed finding out this has been happening and have tried texting STOP to 89030 but keep getting a "request was not recognised" response. What else can I to stop these?

A new SIM from EE, and nobody knows the number (only activated yesterday).  I got a text this morning:
"Free msg. Sorry a service you ordered from 3030 could not be delivered as you do not have sufficient credit. Please top up to receive this service."  I hadn't signed up to any service, using the info from this thread I sent "STOP" to 89030 and got a reply:

"Thank you. You are now unsubscribed from the T-Mobile Mobile Music Chart. Go to www.t-zones.co.uk/linkto?ID=270391 for a full list of services"

Strange.  Thanks for the 89030 information.

Changed to an Asda sim running on T Mobile 3 days ago, getting daily horoscope txts charging me 20p a time. No joy from Asda help desk or T Mobile cust. services. Tried the 89030 no. but does not work. Other than having to change my number ANY ADVICE.  Asda one of the cheapest for txts & calls other than Sainsbury whose service I had to change from due to them closing their payg.

Found on a Martin Lewis Money Saving Expert forum:
If anyone on T-Mobile has been bothered by unwanted premium SMSes -- horoscope, lottery, that sort of thing -- sent from shortcode 3030 there is a great read on TechCrunch (as a new user I apparently can't post the link but if you search via Google using the following construction:

    site:techcrunch(dot)com t-mobile +curious

then click on the first link ('why startups are beating carriers') and read the latter portion about T-Mobile UK you'll find it.

Turns out 3030 is a T-Mobile 'service' and it looks like it's all too easy to be signed up by T-Mobile's systems without explicit consent

    ALSO
    PhonepayPlus say:
PhonepayPlus has the following information about shortcode number:
    3030

PhonepayPlus is a service from OFCOM.   It is disappointing that they have not made the effort to obtain full and correct information from EE.
