I got a call just now and searched it and found this site. WTF is going on?@!?!?!?!?!

Received call from this number today at 3:23 PM.

I had a missed call on my cell phone from 30 minutes ago...glad I didn't answer.

Just got a missed call from 3177128989
and googled the number.

We have discovered through extensive research that this phone number is an elaborite scam. It allows access to your phone when you pick it up, so those of you who didn't pick up the call are safe. Those of you who picked up the call are in danger of having all of your information on your phone stolen and made available to these scammers. By picking up the call, they have an open line into the backdoor of your phone required by law to be built in to all phones made after 2001. Read the Telecommunications Act of 1996 for more details.....

So i awaken to a call from this number but I decide not to answer, wait ro see if I get a voice message, I didnt so I called back to see who called, busy, disconnected, what the hell is up this number?

Got the call, did not answer, googled #, came up with this website. Thanks everyone for your information.

I got that same call today too@ 12:38pm while I was @ work. So weird!!! (This really needs to stop)

I just read that telecommunications act and that is so scary. I can't believe this number can allow them to break in your phone if u pick up the call. Yikes!!!!!

This number called me at 3:24pm today. It was also a recoding in spanish. I hung up. I too have the cell phone on the do not call list.

i just got the same call and i didnt answer and then when i tired to call back # not in service!! i hate calls like this!!!

just got a call from this Number. when i called it back i got a busy signal. guess i will not answer the next time it comes up. crazy

someone called me from this number, person unknown.

I just got a call from 317-712-8989. It was a recorded message of a woman speaking Spanish. She said something like"for exclusive offers" before I hung up.

I've read abunch of replies on various websites and they are all about the same. people describe a spanish speaking female claiming you won a prize, to press one to claim. then they get charged alot in long distance charges or something like that. what i want to know is how do you report something like this to make it stop. what actions can be taken against them as this does not seem legal or atleast right. it's ridiculous to just sit here and let some [***] scam people like this. i don't know where to go or what to do so if someone can just point me in the right direction i'll just be on my way to maybe ridding the world of this nuisance...
