- SamI received a called from David Goldstein from TalentHunter.com offering me to be enter into two auditions that paid between $600 and $700 per day. It sound it good until he requested that I pay a fee for their services with a credit card via phone. When I told him I would go online to do it Mr. Goldstein said that it was better that I paid it directly with him because he was known in the business and he would put my profile first when submitting it.

- jmThey call you and make you feel special and drop on you the $199 fee to be able to get anywhere. The thing is it's a pure gamble and there is no guarantee that your $199 will get you work. It could be a bad lead! It's like those dating sites that they tell you that you have matches, but have to pay the a fee to get information. Often it turns out the "matches" are not for you. At least with real agencies you pay 20 percent and you KNOW you have work!
- cocoI have read the majority of these posts, SAME thing happened to me!!! DEFINITLY do not trust exploretalent. They go into detail and are good at SOUNDING legit because obviously they have done this many, many times! They are really prepared to SUCKER you in, the guy talked to me for 30 freaking minutes, but when I said something about wanting to let my dad speak with him, he was reluctant and made up an excuse not to. Their only job is trying to SCAM people... And hopefully people will stop responding. It is so true that people who ask for money up front, no matter how sly they talk, IS a scam and completely illegitimate.
- JerseyBoy replies to DRDI just finished talking with a Tony Thompson. He sounded like a really nice guy but he called and left a message from a different number and asked me to call him back on another different number. When I talked with him he just name-dropped a ton of celebrities and asked how I would like to pay the $70. I got involved with the John Robert Powers Schooling System and it seems to me like this Explore Talent is yet another scam. They really know how to play on your emotions. If you are serious about acting or modeling, get an agent and do this the right way. People talk talk talk and you need to learn how to weed out information that is valid.
- ad replies to Top Model in LAExplore talent I believe is not a scam. Model Productions opened the door for my daughter. This is the scout company that do their business at the malls. Nothing happened with that company though although my daughter won the contract. We paid the pictures for profile but when submitted to other companies, its not acceptable per the business standard. We paid $150 for the casting cards and again its not acceptable to the industry. So the $150 was gone. They emailed saying to activate the winner's account but could not download pictures in their system and nobody is helping, no return calls or nothing. So we forgot this Model Productions and tried EXPLORE TALENT. We posted the pictures and resume with no experience at all. Some casting managers called and put us on different auditions. We didn't pay these casting managers as the arrangement was to have a 10% from all the paid jobs. But we have to pay for the comp cards being taken by other companies. Since then, my daughter been booked to real auditions and landed some paying jobs.

I just rec'd a message from a woman named "Rickie", and she said that she had modeling and acting jobs lined up for me, and that many others were interested after viewing THE PICTURES THAT I NEVER SENT!!!!
Another thing, she called me from the number 323-785-2010 (that was on my caller ID) however, she gave me a different number to call her back at which was 800-685-0000.
RULE OF THUMB: YOU SHOULD BE THE ONE GETTING PAID.....IF A TALENT COMPANY ASKS YOU FOR MONEY...I T I S A S C A M !!!! A LEGIT COMPANY WILL N E V E R ASK YOU FOR MONEY...THEY PAY Y O U !!! (the only exception is extra work, sometimes they will ask you to do it for free, with payment being the food on the set, but will never ask you for money if they are legit!!) - Sue replies to DRDB E W A R E !!!! When one signs up the fee isn't mentioned until people have given all of thir private information like thier P H O N E N U M B E R...DUH...you get people to sign up and when they get to the fee part, like any smart person would, they sign out...stop treating people as if they are stupid..........you and everyone in your company should be arrested for robbery and attempted robbery!
- manyYearsofActingI received a call just now and logged on to look up the number myself, this is horrible. I have been acting for a long time and a new friend of mine told me she was seeking jobs for her kid so she went to the site....She received the call, so I was just trying to see if they'd do it to me and low and behold!!!! Yes they called and it is so horrible.
Please people, never give you info over the phone, never give addresses, cell numbers, or especially checking account or credit card info.
When I told him I'd do it online he said no, dont do that, it's easier over the phone and I could have his personal number to call on and he actually said, "it's not like I'm going to take your money and change my number"- Caller: Explore Talent
