If you do answer, it is an outsourced customer service center in India and you can't even understand what the hell they are saying!!! I told "Linda" that I couldn't pay it and she just kept reading from a script!!!! I told them to stop calling but that clearly does not work!!

    Irritated
Anything relating to GE Money is horrible...don't know how they get away with what they do, but they are disgusting, rude, irritating, and do whatever they want no matter how many times you report them.  My suggestion, NEVER use GE Money for anything!!!!

The number:  330-433-5833 is GE Money Services (on behalf of PayPal Buyer Credit).

    It is a collection attempt.

I got called at 8:30 AM on my cell phone.  When I answered I got a recorded message telling me to hold the line, this is a very important call and a representative will be with me shortly.  I held the line because I wanted to tell the rep I was filing for bankruptcy but then got a recorded message telling me there was no rep available to speak with me that they would try back later.

2 mintues later I recieved another call from the same number and when I answered they disconnected.

Not wanting to be harrassed every 2 minutes...I called that number back and spoke to a collections person who told me my account was past due.  I gave her my bankruptcy lawyers number and name, and that seemed to satisfy her.  Hopefully they will leae me alone now.

I have just had it with these calls 20-30 times a day on my cellular phone and the calls started again this morning at 9:00am, so I called the number and of course it is a automated recording telling you to put your acct. number in. So I put a bunch of fake numbers and it said that it was incorrect and to put your social security number in, which I put a bunch of fake numbers and wala, it saids hold on for customer service. They answered as Paypal for GE and asked me for my acct. number and I just gave them hell about calling me. The lady said that she would take my number off the list immediately. Well, we'll see.

This is a scam.  I use paypal and never have a problem.  When you call the number back it asks for your account information and password.  Never give this information.
Also they are sending emails with detail instructions on how to download files to your computer.
Guys wake up this is a scam.
I check my paypal account daily and it's in good standing.
    Don't fall for this.
I've report them to the FBI and paypal.

Here is the email (warning do not do this!)

This is GE Money, who runs PayPal's Visa and buyer credit plans.

Be VERY careful with these people.  The following paragraphs summarize GEMoney's tactics:

--        Tells the customer up-front that they owe, say, $85.00, and asks if the customer would like to pay it today.
--       If Customer agrees, The Collector asks if they would roll the amount up to $90.
--       If Customer agrees, The Collector verifies The Customer's information--Name, address, at least the last 4 digit of The Customer's SSN, bank information, and usually the last 3-4 digits of The Customer's checking account.
--       Only THEN will GEMoney let you know there's a $15 surcharge for payments over phone.

    Uh...WHAT?

This Collector means to tell The Customer, AFTER The Customer agreed to pay the relativity small charge of $90.00, that "Oh, by the way, there's a $15.00 charge for all phone payments.  Now, will you give us permission to deduct $90 plus $15?"

This is a questionable tactic at best. The creditor will attempt to conceal that you really owe "$90 + $15" until you've already agreed to make the payment.  This is known as "bait and switch".  The "bait" is your payment.  The "switch" is then adding an additional fee onto the payment which they will remove at the same time.  I was FIVE MINUTES into this call before he finally mentioned the $15 fee.  I told this collector in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS that this was nothing more than bait-and-switch, which is a questionable tactic at best and out-and-out fraud at worst.  I outright refused to pay the $15.  Reluctantly, the collector agreed to waive the charge.  I paid the $90 I had initially agreed to, but not before talking to a supervisor and letting THEM know that bait and switch is not only unethical, but is illegal in many states.  "You either need to drop the $15 totally, or you need to make it crystal clear at the start of the call that the minimum payment you will accept over the phone includes a $15 surcharge."  The supervisor said he'd pass it along, but I'm not holding my breath.

It does not matter about the amount of  money.  They gave you a credit line of $500 and you used it.  If you loaned some $500 would you like to get paid back.  I think you would.  If you can't pay your bill then try to work out a payment plan.

I got two calls within a few hours from this number, with no voicemail left. I have never been late, nor am I currently late on a payment. I checked my online account and everything seemed in order. I feel strongly that this might be a scam. Who else asks for your pay pal number first thing?
