Report a phone call from 336-217-0877 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- wilhelmina replies to rodaResearch Company from North Carolina.
Our Company does not do any research questionnaires over the phone so i didn't give him the time of day , or to find out what research they were doing . - Myron SilverAnother victim of a very stupid entity. Why bother calling from the same number and not sell anything or even wait until I answer. I feel sorry for the slobs working for this entity. They must get paid only for dialing, even if they don't sell anything.
- DNCgot a call from this number and when I went to complain, this is what I was told! 336-217-0877, caller ID shows: Greenboro, NC
1. If I register my number on the National Do Not Call Registry, will it stop all telemarketing calls?
No. Placing your number on the National Do Not Call Registry will stop most telemarketing calls, but not all. Because of limitations in the jurisdiction of the FTC and FCC, calls from or on behalf of political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors would still be permitted, as would calls from companies with which you have an existing business relationship, or those to whom you’ve provided express agreement in writing to receive their calls. However, if you ask a company with which you have an existing business relationship to place your number on its own do-not-call list, it must honor your request. You should keep a record of the date you make the request.
2. Are calls from political organizations or calls soliciting for charities covered?
Political solicitations are not covered by the TSR at all, since they are not included in its definition of “telemarketing.” Charities are not covered by the requirements of the national registry. However, if a third-party telemarketer is calling on behalf of a charity, a consumer may ask not to receive any more calls from, or on behalf of, that specific charity. If a third-party telemarketer calls again on behalf of that charity, the telemarketer may be subject to a fine of up to $16,000 .
3. What about telephone surveys?
If the call is really for the sole purpose of conducting a survey, it is not covered. Only telemarketing calls are covered — that is, calls that solicit sales of goods or services. Callers purporting to take a survey, but also offering to sell goods or services, must comply with the National Do Not Call Registry.
4. My number is on the National Do Not Call Registry. After I bought something from a company, a telemarketer representing that organization called me. Is this a violation?
No. By purchasing something from the company, you established a business relationship with the company. As a result, even if you put your number on the National Do Not Call Registry, that company may call you for up to 18 months after your last purchase or delivery from it, or your last payment to it, unless you ask the company not to call again. In that case, the company must honor your request not to call. If they subsequently call you again, they may be subject to a fine of up to $16,000 .
An established business relationship with a company also will be created if you make an inquiry to the company, or submit an application to it. This kind of established business relationship exists for three months after the inquiry or application. During this time, the company can call you.
If you make a specific request to that company not to call you, however, then the company may not call you, even if you have an established business relationship with that company. You should keep a record of the date you make the request.
1. Are telemarketing calls from overseas covered?
Yes. Any telemarketers calling U.S. consumers are covered, regardless of where they are calling from. If a company within the U.S. solicits sales through an overseas professional telemarketer, that U.S. company may be liable for any violations by the telemarketer. The FTC can initiate enforcement actions against such companies.
The National Do Not Call Registry requirements are at least as stringent as most state laws. Most unwanted telemarketing calls will be covered by the National Do Not Call Registry. States also can continue to enforce their laws, which will not be limited by the FTC. However, the FCC’s requirements impact some state laws. - by-stander| 1 replyIf they are trying to verify they have the right person's credit card info, so they can start robbing you blind, wouldn't it be helpful to call you and have you verify your last few purchases? "Yep!!!, this is our guy!!!"
If you swipe your card in the store (and number is recorded visually or electronically) but the person behind counter or others don't know your name, a friendly call to verify would help make the match. Maybe the scammer followed you home or figured out your address/number another way?
Maybe I'm just being paranoid??
I recently found a website that listed by sister-in-law's name, credit card info (including PIN), her address. It even had her mother's maiden name and yahoo login + password info. Many more names on this si- Caller: 3362170877

I did some research on these clowns. I checked with the Greensborob BBB website and saw that they are not accredited and have had complaints, but more importantly I got their real phone number. Call them at 336-574-3000, you will get a real person, and tell them exactly how you feel about them...
I called right before 10 pm Eastern and got a human. I gave him the number that they called (our number, in other words) and told him that we do not do phone surveys. He said that he would tell the owner, and that they would take our number off their list. We'll see. - JasonI also called 336-574-3000 and got a person at 10:18 PM.
I nicely asked them to place both of my numbers on the do not call list.- Call type: Survey

- AnonymSaturday August 18th 2012, I just got a call from this number (336-217-0877) this morning, it was on my caller-ID as "Private Call."
I noticed that if I don't recognize the number shown on caller-ID, I can press the speaker-phone button twice(very quickly), and this will disconnect the caller. After doing this a few times when they call, they'll stop calling.
Note: In order for this to work, you must do it before the second ring, and the room you're in must be quite(no background noise, like TV, Radio, People talking, etc.).
For the days that I'm not at home or not near the phone to use the trick. I'll enter the bothersome number on my phone's "Caller Reject" function.
I came across this old phone at a second-hand store, it's a "Radio Shack Caller ID System 1100."
NOTE: This is an old(circa. 1990s) phone, and no longer sold by Radio Shack.
One of the features of this phone is a "VIP/REJECT" button, this allows me to enter the number of a caller that I want to stop calling me.
When that number calls, it's greeted with the following message built into the phone "The Number you are calling will not accept your call." After the message is delivered, the call is disconnected.- Caller: Private Call
- TroyI called 336-574-3000 and asked if 336-217-0877 was their number. They confirmed that it was and I said they do surveys. I said I do not want to have any more calls from their company. The woman said okay and hung up on me.
