just received a random SMS from +353872880335 stating "i am Ms. Okoh Sophia. i have a biz proposal with $8.4mill, for more details contact me with you full names, home address at ms.sokoh3@w.cn" at 13/11/2010 05:09:23 AM but the time now is 4ish PM EST (eastern standard time)

Anyone know who this is? Did anyone else receive this message? What should i do? notify the police?

i just got that message too and im with optus prepaid who did they get our numbers

I am with Optus too. I received the message at 13/11/2010 3:50pm AEDT. Definitely a scam.

at the bottom of this page it says "353-87-288-0335 Country: Ireland" does this mean someone from ireland just SMS'ed us. How did they get our number?

353 is country code for Ireland. Not sure how they get our numbers. We are both with Optus.

I googled the number and found this web page.

go to google and type in "ms.sokoh3@w.cn" it has appeard on this site saying it's a scam email.

the email "ms.sokoh3@w.cn" is found on that site saying it's says "# Mail addresses marked '419' are Advance Fee Scam sender addresses# (aka "Nigerian Scam/West African scam") detected by jwSpamSpy.# Addresses marked '0' have been added to the list manually."

this is a SCAM

what should we do now? well i blocked the number in my message settings, hopefully this person doesn't send again.

this is fake its a scam. you should report it to the scamwatch.gov.au if your from australia

SCAM ALERT 1 - too much money - If it sounds tooo good the be true..etc etc
SCAM ALERT 2 - a hotmail address??? yeah right
SCAM ALERT 3 - the country code says Ireland which is just about bankrupt... no-one in the whole country would have that amount .. let alone give it away to us :-)

If someone was notifiying you about an enormous cash prize I don't think they would be wanting you to reply through a hotmail account.

I also take same sms like Chris. I think this a bull [***] Joke. I life in Turkey and I use to Nokia Phone many times.This is so interesting. Why they are send this sms?  what for???
