The Do Not Call list is a website the US government (FCC) operates for citizens to report spam calls, emails, texts, etc. I've made a practice of reporting spammers as soon as the call comes in, though keeping a list can be helpful because a lot of times the same spammer calls from different numbers.

Even if the spammer doesn't leave a message or if they disconnect you, if you're able to capture the number on caller ID, you can do a Google search and get more info about them if you want. There are several websites out there that act as a service to citizens and some of the posters go to great lengths to find out who called and to obtain alternate numbers so they can be reported too. The FCC offers places on their online form to provide as much info as you've been able to find out.

After you file a claim, they'll send you written documentation of your complaint. I've seen a huge reduction in the number of calls I get since I've started reporting them. 5th call from these spammers

Thisis from a lead generation vendor that generates calland and leads for other companies. Often other companies don't know how scummy these lead gen companies are. I reached a nice guy at VMS security who gave me a vendor's number to call to add myself to their DNC list within 24 hours.  Worth a try - To remove yourself from at least one of these vendors call lists, call 1-503-457-1274. This is strictly an automated opt-out number.  Worht a shot. Good luck and keep filing those complaints.

Company name is VMS Alarms.  You can call and get a live person in sales 401-434-4585 to tell them to remove your name.
      I found this on another site. CALL THEM and tell them the calls have been recorded and if they do not stop you will take legal action. I actually saw a news story of a man who made his living getting settlements from companies that were spamming him. Some pretty impressive checks too. Of course the calls were recorded and legalities were sorted. Good luck to all.

Remember as well:  If you call some 800ish number you see on TV or in ads, OR if you send in a reply letter for "free gift", "more info" etc, even if on DNC list that company or whom company sells to is allowed to call you for 90 days.  NOTE on DNC list:  This was created by policiticians to keep you from being bothered, but the very people who made the law exempted themselves FROM IT!  Way to Go Politicians.  I would rather deal with telemarketers than those clowns!
