Automated voice.  I am on the "Do Not Call List".  This is illegal.

just got called - 11:50PST Wednesday 26th August 2009

Just got call from this number, a recording in Spanish. "Muy importante" my *ss.

I went and reported these clowns to the DNC...

"The phone number 402-982-0426 was registered on August 15, 2009. Companies may call you for up to 31 days after that date. You may file a complaint if a company calls you after September 15, 2009."

Wtf is the point of complaining?

Keeps calling, hanging up, no messages. Calling back is just as pointless.

Nothing about credit cars though. I waited on the phone then they hung up after about 15 seconds. thanks to everyone here for the info.

I picked up and the Intel jingle was playing on the phone.

Received a call on my cell phone from 402-982-0426 on 9/02/09 at 12:32 pm Central time.  It was a pre-recorded message in Spanish.  Calls of this type are strictly prohibited on cell phone numbers.  I have contacted the FCC about these calls--I get them from different numbers about once every 2-3 weeks, and was told there was nothing they could do unless I filed a complaint, and that the offenders would be investigated and fined if I filed a complaint that reveals a violation.  These folks do not respect Do-Not-Call laws, so the only way to stop them is to file enough complaint that they're forced out of business by the fines.  It's easy to do on the fcc.gov website, and only takes a few minutes.

Answering machine picked up the call at 4:10 pm on Sept. 5...nothing but a dial tone from the caller.  I have been on the do not call list since it came out.

Yup. Got it this AM with Intel jingle twice, then nothing.

It called and woke me up.

Call came thru from this number 402-982-0426. Fortunately they used my Google Voice phone number which can block any future calls. I just added them to the blocked list and next time they call they will hear "this phone number is no longer in service". I love my free Google Voice account. They may call me once but they won't call me back ever again thanks to Google.

Interesting note- Qwest even with additional paid call blocking services will not allow a consumer to block a telemarketing call. When I contacted Qwest for assistance I was told that Qwest has nothing that will do this. The DNC list is a joke and telemarketers know it. That's why they get away with this stuff. With Google Voice they can only call me once from the same number. I find it appalling that Google can provide me with a free service that will block calls and Qwest whom I pay for services will not. That's why I dropped my Qwest long distance and only pay Qwest for local services. If Google can come up with a paid service that allows me to drop Qwest completely they will have me as a lifelong customer.

Card Services called and wanted to lower my interest rate on my cards and this was a final notice......Clearly a scam. If they don't have there buiness name that displays and makes scense I don't even answer that call!

What we need to do is replace EVERY member of Congress, and then elect new members with the common sense to put scammers like this in prison.

You're on your own if you're an honest, law-abiding citizen of the U.S. because Congress goes out of its way to let these kinds of scammers continue.

This number just called my cell phone. how do these ppl even get ahold of cell phone numbers???

Yeah, they called me too. I called back and got the "this number is no longer in service bla" message. Then I read on this site from a lady who used to work for the phone company that the message I heard is not a legitimate phone company message. SOO..... I called them again and just sat there waiting and SURE ENOUGH after a few times repeating the message, SOMEONE PICKED UP. They didn't say anything, but they definitely picked up and were listening. I knew they would just hang up anyway; so I just (loudly and annoyingly) sang their little three note jingle right back to them. And of course, then they hung up. I have resolved to call them and annoy them every time they call me. I SUGGEST EVERYONE PLAGUED WITH THESE CALLS does the same. I'm thinking they might even stop calling me.
