I agree with the bloggers below...you just may be part of this scam, which is a shame.

Perhaps you could share some of the details of the business you sold...business name, location, sale date, etc.  Oh, and what it cost you for this deal of a lifetime.

If you say this is legit, the info you give us is part of a public record, and you should have no problem sharing it.  If you refuse, then you are a disgrace to breath life into this!

You are the spammer this is a scam you are a liar send us a picture of you on a boat you liar!

Got the same letter form William Liebowitz. Total scam.

Anyone getting this or any other kind of scam should call or email the [***] back and waste as much of the their time as you can. The only way to stop these people is to overwhelm them with choices. Make it so they can't tell who is real and who is playing with them. Get them to spend their money and time sending you checks or going through the motions of whatever scam they are running.

Lets face it, they are not the brightest.

Got the same fax but from Chicago Capital Corporation on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, but with the 403 AC.  Pretty poorly worded and obviously a scam.

Same company, new number. 613-236-0076 with an address 233 south wacker drive 84th floor Chicago as the "world headquarters".

How do you stop this crap! I am on my 3rd letter also. Beware

I tried to remove my name from the fax removal service. No luck!

I got a Fax the letter states they have a buyer and they want to qualify me to get the buyers information to assist.  Number to call is 403-441-6802.  I did call it and the person said he had a buyer for businesses in our area wanted to qualify me for the buyer and he needed inforamtion from me.  I told him I was not interested and to remove me from their list and I still get this faxes but with a different name a Secion Vice President on it.  

The letter has heading The Chicago Capital Corporation, World Headquarters 500 N. Michigan Aven Suite 300 Chicago IL 60611

this is a scam that is from a company in pompano beach florida. wall street private equity is the company and they use shell companies and websites to take advantage of unsuspecting and hardworking business owners. they send their faxes all over the world from another country and try to get fees, but dont produce any results as you can see if you google the parent company. many complaints not many positive results. i get these faxes on a weekly basis and would not waste my time with these people. their 'qualification' is probably just a way to see if you have any money they can take from you. beware! oh and 'bahama guy'-it takes more than a day or two to sell a business btw. enjoy your riches!

I have received way too many of these ridiculous spam faxes. Some from the same 'company', others with different company names. And yes, they seem to have LOTS of senior vice presidents for one company. An Albert Canada phone number for a business supposedly located in Chicago?? Don't think so. What's even funnier about this particular one is that is says at the top "From the desk of Michael Stephenheuer, Senior Vice President", and it is signed at the bottom: "Kindest Regards, Edward Anderson Senior Vice President"...the very same page!

We got the fax from Peter Edwards to call 403-441-6802 to sell our business. Thing is this business was sold 12 years ago! Fax number that sent it is 954-582-5090. What a bunch of idiots.

He addressed it to the former president about a significant buyer...serious interest in buying the company

The guy the fax was addressed to got fired by the real owner 3 yrs ago
We also get junk mail addressed to the Ex-CEO from banks offering big lines of credit to entreprenuers like this guy...  so Peter Edwards gets his info from the same crappy marketing lists.

My beef is that it wastes paper and toner on my fax machine

We received a fax from Seminar Corporation of America with no address and signed by Samuel Samson.  This letter talks about seminars and customer and marketing sales tools.  The phone number listed was 403-441-6802.   It seems like they switch back and forth from being a business buyer to seminars!  This is nothing but a SCAM.

Just received a fax from PR POWER with a call back number of 403-441-6802.  After reading the posts on this forum, I've also come to believe this is a scam.  

In my fax they claim that a feature article about my company in the New York Times or the most important trade publications would dramatically change the image of my company.

For a moderate cost I can explore their public relations publicity.  A nicely worded document but it has no other real information on it.  

BEWARE!!

There is absolutely no reason to call this company back.

hey faxed umpteen times until I said let me have a listen for sh*ts and giggles - Boy , what a Putz this guy Steven West is .... he gave me his cell as well 954-448-5500 LOL. I've been a business owner for 25+ - Wall Street Equity is great for few laughs but I wouldn't give him a penny.Wall Street Equity and Acquisitions Group, Inc, STEVEN WEST INVESTMENT BANKER IN A SHARED OFFICE SPACE ?????? Pompano Beach, Florida My friend in Indianapolis told me that he was trying to sell his company through some broker/investment banker. Since I'm located in south Florida he asked me to check them out . After doing so my advice to him was to run away from this company. Steven West has been involved in several nefarious companies and is running an "investment bank" out of a shared office space. Business owners - do not pay up front fees to sell your business.

My favorite one yet, which I take as a compliment:

"It seems that I have been unsuccessful in getting my letters and phone calls past your secretary."

Well thank you, that's what I'm here for! These faxes go straight into the circular file. We are a government agency so we are not for sale. This one was signed "Michael Peterson, President" at phone number 613-236-0076.
