- Bob Loblaw replies to V. Chasethat's BS...I have _NEVER_ stayed at a Marriott hotel and they keep bothering me.
You must be from the scammers! - BruceWhen I asked caller for identity, he replied "Marriott" (I had stayed at one Marriott hotel a month ago in DC area). Due to poor cellphone reception in my locale (for which my Wi-Fi calling feature was inoperative with my phone not yet password-unlocked), caller complained of "conversation breaking up" and disconnected me, without trying again.
Hmmm. Sounds like a useful app to develop for a smartphone -- press a button to cause static and dropped words on an unwanted telemarketing call.- Caller: Marriott
- Call type: Telemarketer
- suzthey are calling me 2-3 a day and they don't leave a message......I have not answered because I don't recognize the number! I am on a do not call list....stop calling
- employee replies to Always Be Cautiousyou probably have never been called because you don't qualify
- siri got a call from this number and spoke with the marriott caller for awhile and asked them to call back. i called marriott international customer service reservations to see if its a scam and they were unaware of any such offer...
- Call type: Telemarketer
- BrendaConstantly calls asking about a recent stay (mine was over 10 months ago) then tries to talk me into spending hundreds of dollars on another stay there. I asked to be on the do not call list they put you on it then take you off and start harassing again after a couple months.
- Caller: Marriott
- Mary KayCall at all hours of the day and night. I have asked to be removed from their list, but they just hang up on me.
- Caller: Marriott Vacation
- LindseyThis number has once a day for the past week while I'm at work so I can't pick up and there is never a VM. I would like to get a message so I know why you're calling... Makes me think twice about staying at a Marriott again - I understand that it's a sales call and i may be interested in what you're selling, but this method is ridiculous- we're not in middle school anymore; leave a message. I won't call back numbers who randomly call over and over again just to see why they're calling.

- Seriously replies to NO CHASE IS NOT WRONGThe Caps Lock key is located on the left side of the keyboard, between the Tab and the Shift keys. Usually, there is a small LED indicating whether it is enabled or not. Please make sure it is NOT enabled.
- cincyMy first complaint ever to Do not Call. Rude and called back with the correct last name. I would never do business like this over the phone. Timeshares like the Marriott are well known, try postcards instead. Calls are annoying.
- PCI received message from this phone#. It states my Marriott membership expired today asking me call back 1-800-7824510 push #5 and extension 5575 asking Rita. I google it. This phone# register in China, not Marriott phone#.
- Caller: Self Claim Marriott membership center
- Call type: Event reminder
- SabCalled and offered Marriott vacation club discounted stay. Talked for like 5 minutes without letting me get a word in, describing in fantastic detail the Newport Coast villas where I have already stayed several times. When he finally let me get a word in, I said I wasn't interested. "Ok-" click, he very rudely disconnected after wasting my time since apparently his time is too important to close a conversation properly.

- qzbSuper long message, stating I can stay in Marriott at 70% off rate. U am sure it's scam.

- Michael G."This is the greatest deal Marriott offers!"
Wow, this is just wrong. People should not be beaten over the head to sign up for anything. It's almost like they just want to wear down people at the receiving end of the phone call, so they join as a method of relief from the phone calls. Marriott is a legit company, but they are a for profit company too. Your time is valuable to you so don't let them take it freely just because they have a website and listed number in the phone book.
Please contact www.ftc.gov or the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in Washington, DC. Once they get enough complaints then they can act to either fine or file criminal complaints. I work for an agency in DC and action is taken, but it takes YOU to do something to get this corrected. That's why timeshares cannot hold you hostage, take your keys away, pull your credit without asking, deny your promised gift given for your time and many of the other shady practices they used to engage in back in the day. Before I became a Fed and learned my rights, yes I sat there all day once listening to a timeshare presentation, with my kids separated from me and my wife. All day. By the time we got our tickets, we had less than 3 hours to spend at Disney. That same time share that we visited in 2003 is now abandoned and homeless people, trash and animals now reside there.
If you want to go to Disney or anywhere, use a sensible credit card rewards program. Try not to carry a balance. Try not to run so low on funds that you purchase cigarettes and gas and milk and end up paying finance charges over the next 20 years for it. Save 1% of your pay at first, and increase it as you get raises. When you get a raise, and if you're already comfy, let the full raise go to an interest bearing savings account, esp if you don't have an appetite for risk. Then, eventually you can afford to pay full price for anything you want including your vacation. Your time is valuable and the one thing in life that you cannot get back. So, don't give it to people freely. When telemarketers steal it away and pull you from dinner with your family, call the Federal Trade Commission, Better Business Bureau, etc. and when you sign up for something, read the fine print. You may have just given up your right to have a peaceful night for the next several months.- Caller: Marriott
