these idiots call on dec.29,2010 claiming to be charter,they called my business line and we have a way to block asap with a blocking feature we have just for these annoying calls , the same way we  block customers who we don't want to do busines with.

I have been called 8 times over the past 4 days! Every time I pick up the phone, the same guy who supposedly works for this company in Maryland is the one to answer! He's rude, obnoxious and doesn't understand the meaning of "stop calling me!" or "I don't want anything from you!" and keeps calling back even after I warned him that I requested my number to be added on the Do-Not-Call list. His persistence on calling my number on a daily basis is really pissing everyone in my household off. These harassing phone calls from this company need to stop, and I mean NOW!

It is a sales call from Charter Communications.

I recieved a call from a cust that said this number called her.  I can confirm as many other people have that this is NOT Charter Communications sanctioned call.  This is a scam which is trying to get people to tell them information. I personally work for internet and video repair and have never even heard of this number before...

If you recieve this call again, please do not reply here about bad information about charter.  This same number is claiming to be multiple things as well as Charter.  Those of you on the Do-Not-Call list I am sorry this number is claiming to be us.  Another side note, we are Charter Communications... Some people have said Charter CABLE calls them... a different wrong title...

There is no one or a recording on the end. Just silence. I tried calling the number, but get a busy tone.

This number began calling my place of business every single day around noon.  I eventually started picking up and hanging up right away and after a few days they started varying the time of the calls.  There was never anyone on the other end of the line when I answered.  Someone really needs to do something about this number.

This number has called me 68 times as of the time of this posting.  It started out calling me once per day, in the morning.  In the beginning, I would pick up the phone, but no one would say anything, then I'd get a disconnect.  After a while, I would get one in the morning and a second in the afternoon or evening.  The time of the calls would vary slightly each day.  After several times of picking up the phone and getting nothing, I started sending the call to SIT (see http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/Special+Information+Tone if you don't know what this is) in an attempt to get a possible automated dial to stop.  The calls persisted for some time, so I changed my strategy to simply hangup the call without doing anything else, giving the caller absolutely nothing.  The calls still continue.  I'm trying to come up with another strategy now.

It's not Charter, they don't have an office in Maryland.  It's a scam. Don't answer.

People must not be filing complaints with the FCC because this phone number is still in operation.

This is a follow-up to my last post.  I devised a plan, and they fell into my trap.  Rather than sending them the SIT or an immediate hangup, I decided to play a sound file that said "hello" a couple of times and record the audio of the call.  After the hello sound file played twice, a female caller identified herself as a representative calling on behalf of Charter Communications, which is the primary cable service provider in this area; not calling FROM Charter, but calling on their behalf.  She spouted off something from her script about which programming I enjoyed watching on TV.  When my call trap did not answer her, she indicated that she was ending the call and thanked me for my time, then disconnected.  I have not had another call from that number since this happened more than a week ago (2011-08-03 09:30:31).  Keep in mind that they were calling two times every day.

I have filed FCC Form 1088D online.  Maybe some other people will fall in line.

Called and did not leave a message. Unknown reason for the call. Would be appreciated if they left the reason why they are calling.

Our phone number is on the Do Not Call list and today I filed a complaint against this caller. We were getting calls with no message left during the night on the business line. Finally, I picked up on this telemarketer call during business hours 8/16 @ 9:35 am; I asked why this number was called and was told that our phone number had called Charter prior, which is not correct. Told the woman to remove the number from the call list, and she said that by law it would take up to 30 days to be removed and may get more calls in the meanwhile. And no - it's not "OK" with me that this should take that long!

If you filed the complaint formally with the FCC, you should be getting a call from someone in Charter's executive office pretty soon.  You'll be able to tell the person about it and ask that the Marketing Manager take appropriate action with their telemarketing service provider.  The abusive caller has been hired as a third-party marketing agency by Charter Communications (as well as plenty of other companies).

The Only Way To Stop These Kinds Of Calls Is To Make Them Pay. Always Answer - They Have To Pay For Completed Call.  Keep Them Talking As Long As Possible With Fake Info So They Have To Pay More.
