    Tired of Being Harassed
There was a fellow who started out being "chipper", like he knew you...new method...giving his name as "Brandon Coe" sounded like. When asked who he was with, all he would keep saying was to try to verify a name, and when he could not do that, he said, "Well, I do not know you either", so I hung up. It seems all this is a game where they keep trying different methods and we learn what methods they use...so passing it on.

Have they not figured out yet they are just getting paid by whoever to harass people...wonder just how much money or whatever they get from this. I wonder if there is another motive here when they try to keep you on the phone with them....like with tracing or whatever, are there other reasons to keep someone on the phone?

Tired of these calls... replies to Hula2Pahoa
I think there are laws whereby you can get them to pay for things when they call you over three times a day or something, maybe less..check out the laws....if the sources, all different numbers, keep going back to the same company, it should not matter how many different numbers they use, as long as it is the same company. Someone should be able to track them down. Any attorneys out there to stop harassment that want this case? Obviously, there are enough complaints against them.

This dirt bag is up there with GE and NCO and all the others.  No way to stop them except to hire a lawyer.  Can complaint to the FTC but they will not do anything even though this dirt bag company if you can even call it a company, is breaking all kinds of laws,  Why doesn't the FTC do something about it????  Is the FTC getting paid off or they scare of these debt collectors?  I sure FTC has received hundred s of calls on  this dirt bag as well as others.  Wake up FTC.

These morons have spent more money coming after me than the alleged debt was worth; an outfit run by some bean-counting Israeli penny-pinching millionaire who uses welfare mothers and robocalls to get his pound of flesh.  And like the rest of his stupid ilk, the pound of flesh he ends up getting is usually his own.

Hey everyone, check this out: just tried going to the website of Portfolio Recovery Associates and my anti-virus pegged it as "untrustworthy" - everything about these [***] is underhanded.

That  is a good idea, except you place one number on your blocked call list and guess what./ they use a different number to call you on,  The best is they say they cannot contact you,but then they never leave a message or even talk to you when you do answer...

They call my daughter's cell EVERY DAY from a different number.  It's been going on for almost 2 years.  Here's the funny part.  She's THIRTEEN.  Somehow I doubt she has any old debt that is due.

My assumption is that they are probably looking for the previous owner of the phone number

This is one of the many numbers used by the scum that are "Portfolio Recovery Associates".   They are a debt collection agency that buys extremely old account files and tries to collect dead balances.  They will call numerous times and never leave a message and have numbers based out of PA, TN, FL and GA that I know of.

They were calling my mother a couple of years ago at her office about a long, gone debt of MINE that was way past the statutes of limitations and was under $200.  They got very ugly and rude with her, accusing her of lying and demanding to know where I was. The debt was not even hers and when she questioned them about calling her at her place of work, they continued with a raised voice and accusing her of knowing my whereabouts and how what she was doing was illegal.  Umm... No.  How about the pot calling the kettle black???

After feeling the wrath of my mother, I called them back and got just as rude with them as they were with me and my mother.  Needless to say, they never got the money they were trying for~

Received a call at 8:00am from this number never answer any of there calls.  I been receiving calls from them sents they glued there name to a credit card that I forgot about after paying all my debt off I miss one notice when I got my credit report which said for your eyes only there was their. Name on the page and how many people look at that one I never did until someone told me about it.   And that is when the calls started.  Now I started to pay back the one I forgot about and they started to call. The only out standing debt I have is a sallie mae student loan that was find out to be a forge signature.  I prove this to sallie mae and they refuse to remove my name from the loans.  So after al of this I will never answer the phone when ther name pops up on my caller I.d. and to top that I also have a unlisted number.  But I think unlisted numbers is a thing of the pass sents all you need is a name or address of a person and a credit card and you ccan buy all the information about this person over the world wide web.
