two calls,sounded like someone at the other end but didn't say anything,  disturbing..........

Called today, didn't answer since I don't know the number, they left a message saying "Nicole from University of Pittsburgh Dental School returning your call. 412 624 7985."
I had not called them.

Said my number was randomly selected for a survey by the health department.

No they aren't. UPMC stands for University of Pittsburgh Medical Center they are in fact connected but actually the call is from University of Pittsburgh. I believe it is the collections department to be exact.

I just want to know if this was a legal survey

I have received phone calls from this number for the past three days.  The first day a message was left, but it was just background noise with someone talking to someone else in the background, as if they didn't realize the message was recording.  The other two days, no messages were left.  I suspect someone spoofing the number.

How did they (UPMC or Pitt) get my cell number???

I got a call from this number, and it says it was coming from Pittsburgh. I didn't answer, since I didn't know the number, but it seems like it was from Pitt, if the rest of the thread is to be believed. However, I didn't go there, and neither did any of my family members. Any idea what they'd want with me?

got several calls from this # on my cell - have never answered, and don't plan to.
never went to Pitt but have been UPMC patient?

I answered this call.  They said they were with the CDC doing a Health insurance survey.

Calls once a week on my cell. No one answers when I call back. I'm blocking.

Don't trust this company

Randomly received a phone call from this number on my cell phone today. Guy on the line was looking for a Sharon to confirm an appointment. As my name is John and I've had this same cell phone number for nearly a decade now I don't know what that was about. Wrong number?

called one night 3 times in a row and insisted it was a random call after 7:00 pm and once 4 days later

They are linked: UPMC stands for University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. If it's about medicine, they sometimes aren't allowed to leave a message unless you give them permission.

It still could be a telemarketer or spoof.

Ticking me off bad! Calls every week and hangs up, AFTER wasting 3 seconds of voicemail not used. Yes, blocked it. It does have a listing for a female, Shanita Lynn Jones Pittsburgh PA.  I also found out it's a landline she's had for quite a few years.  I'm going to do what I usually do when they really tick me off and submit it to the,  no-call list complaint center,  it will end. They don't like hang up robocalls. It only takes 2 seconds kids,  you can make it stop.

Just received a call from this number. I was told it was a survey from the Health Dept. & CDC in Pittsburgh. I was a random call to answer question pertaining to health issues. I could choose to answer certain questions or not, my choice. So I took their survey. I was also told that it was coming from the office of Dr. Alden Small at Pittsburgh University.
