REGARDING SCAM FROM TELEPHONE NUMBER 4159357074 parents just rang me to tell me that a man named Jordon Miller called there home stating he was from the Legal Affairs State Treasury Dept.  And like the others he stated it was urgent and wanted my number.  He too also used my maiden name that I haven't used in 7 years.    Luckily my folks did not give out my number ( I have been living abroad for 8 years)  I rang only to get a very noisy out going message stating the dept and to leave a message,  I did not and I also hid my telephone  number.    So tired of hearing about these crooks scamming people.  SCAM ALERT

Said he could go to jail if he didnt pay taxes

Got this same message from a Jordan...who was telling me about a CP534, not paying my taxes since 2009...wanted to know that my arrest warrant has been issued......When I asked him for his agent number, he doesn't have one!!!  When I asked what county per the taxes I have not paid was located he got very upset with me.  He lost his cool by F*$# bombing me for my irresponsible duty and now I have lost my chances at "paying it off."  When I told him that I am recording all of this he hung up. What a terrible way to start your day ! I hope you find all of these posts helpful as we need to stop these dumb [***] together!

I just received this same call yesterday from 415-935-7074 from a person with a HEAVY indian accent (Roger Davis?) stating he was call from the United States Treasury Dept. He also said that I owed money for taxes from 2009 in the amount of 4,529.83. He said that I was sent a certified letter to my house but no one could sign for it so the police were coming to my job and I was going to jail for at least six months until they could sort this out. As I am talking to him, I started to get suspicious so I said "I'm going to put my attorney on the phone right now because I dont understand what you are saying. He then said, "ma'am your attorney can come to court but he cant be on this call." I said, well I joining him on this call anyway and you can explain all of this to him." Mind you, as I saying this I started to google the number. THANK GOD for all of you above! In the end, he hung up on me because he didnt want to speak with my attorney.

I received the same message except his name was Marc Anderson. Same number 415-935-7074

Same here.  Got message on my answering machine with same phone number saying he is Alan Carter from Legal Affairs Dept of the Dept of Treasury and that they are proceeding with legal action and to have my attorney call them.  Called the number but just voicemail comes up saying the leave message.
I reported this to the Burlingame Police Dept near me and they indicated it is a scam and they heard all kinds of similar stories, some of them even claiming to be from the IRS.
What jokers, I hope their karma comes back to them in the near future.

I received a similar message that I just pulled from my voice mail dated from September 23rd.  He said that "legal action" has been placed against my husband.  Duh, I am a paralegal and know that this is not how legal action works in the court systems.  I almost wish I could have answered and played their game.  Instead, I just logged a complaint with the Federal Trade Commissions Do Not Call List department.  

So glad to see all these posting. Same story as everyone, but the caller Roger Davis needs a name that matches his Indian accent. That was the first hint, second he states he's with the Dept. Of Legal Affairs. Ok of what? Phone number we got was 909-271-2709. Was concerned at first, but thank you everyone for posting what happened, and making us aware of this scam!

Received call from "Jordan Miller" as well. Of course, after people complain, and someone tries to do something, all these miscreants have to do is go to another line; I was called from 760 897 3200. That way when you 'google' the number you might not get what you read on this web page. So, I also googled the name he used. With the different phone numbers from different places, it seems obvious these cockroaches aren't from where the area codes indicate. People described the thick accent as Indian; it sounded more [***] to me. You can't stop these tards; you can only be on your guard. Its fortunate that we can verify them as scammers with a website like this. Anytime I see or hear a number I don't know, I look it up, and never answer the actual live call.

Basically same as above.  Someone should notify the U.S. treasury and law enforcement to put a stop to this poorly attempted scam!
