This number is one of the many that belongs to telecoms that links international phone card users. So anyone with a internatinal phone card calling could show up as this number.

Phone rang a few minutes ago. No one there.
In my case I have noticed calls like this have usually shown up for a few weeks after I have refused to cooperate with people calling on behalf of my car dealer or cable/internet provider. No proof they have then given my number to harassers but it seems more than coincidence.

hi.  unfortunately the do not call list does not exempt phone numbers like this from calling.  normally the phone numbers that start with 800 or 888 or 866 that are telemarketers and have nothing to do with collections are the ones that cannot call you.  you can ask your phone service provider if there are any ways to block certain phone numbers from calling.  hope that helps.

these people that called my mom were so rude, asking for donation.  my mom said she cannot afford to pay them donation of $100 and they said, "oh come on, how about $50".  idiots.  i wish i could have a way to block them too.  my service provider isn't the best.

I answered the call from 416-628-7192 because I was expecting a call from the same area code and did not realize the number was different. The person claimed to be from some 'tech support' and was calling about an issue with my computer. I said that I did not call tech support and he replied saying "We sent an update to your computer and its not responding to the updates." Knowing that this was bogus, I hungup.

Brampton here and I too have been getting calls from this # at all hours.  I am on a no call list but it seems the US companies can call or any other countires telemarketers can call.  It is only Canadian telemarketers who are not allwed to call.  They figured out to hire telemarketing companies from the US to call for them.  

The telephone companies who we pay for service from MUST provide a way for us to bloack these calls but then again, the service providers are the ones selling our phone numbers to the telemarketers!

Very rude person.  Keeps calling back even though we told him he has the wrong number.  I finally had to add a caller id block in this number.   Also uses the phone number 2898019224 and even tried calling with caller id blocking enabled.

Looks like Toronto (416) area code, but woman could say just words, and not full sentences "Barrahaven, Clearbrook, neighbor" ... I asked her if she has someone close by who speaks either English or French, she again was saying some random English words. She was definitely Chineese 100%
It is a SCAM. I saved this number as CHENEESE SCAM to my contact list so I won't answer it again.

I believe this is a number used by a long distance company.  My friend calls me from overseas and this is the number that displays on my phone.

yes and it seems to be a cell number too...there should be a way for bell to contact the service provider to have these people arrested...today my very sick mom answered the phone and all they said was "your going to die"  she has kidney disease and has not been well for weeks, imagine receiving a call like that!!  Its very disturbing.

Claimed to be calling from Buffalo and I had won some trip.  Obvious scam.

I answered and got no reply. Sounded like a telemarketing company in the background, with some music and people talking. I called back several time and texted and they do not answer. It took a while to ring, but it just goes straight to the call disconnected sound. I searched the number and their phone provider is from the Rogers Company,phone is from Toronto area obviously(416.)
