NCC is at it again... I'm getting calls too.. Twice a day.

The government is starting to enforce the NO CALL BUT there are so many exceptions... callers from outside the country, businesses you have frequented within the past year, newspapers, charities, political parties, pollsters... ENOUGH - NO CALL MEANS ** DON''T CALL ME!!!**

To get these exemptions off AND ensure the NO CALL list is enforced with an IRON FIST -- please do as I frequently do over such issues.. write your Federal MP AND the Prime Minister AND the Minister of the Opposition... Instead of a stamp put "FRANKED MAIL" on the envelope.. the post office will deliver it for free... YES THEY DO!!! Be sure to use their address at House of Commons, Ottawa!

SOLUTION: I imagine all telecoms do this the same way. You can screen calls if you have the feature registered with your phone. Dial *60 (1160 on a rotary phone) and follow the prompts to enter the NCC number. From that moment on all they will get is an automated operator saying you are not taking calls and then hang up on them; your phone won't ring either! If they start using a new number, however, their calls will return but the number you entered never gets erased unless you want it to.

Received call no one on line when answered.

They called today, selling a subscription to Sunday only Toronto Sun.When I said no, his hackles were raised and demanded a reason as it would only cost me 1.49 a week.  I told him that I was not interested in a Toronto paper as I do not haunt the city more than once a year, if that.  He went ballistic and informed me that it was full of national news, political news etc and it was my DUTY to stay aprised of the current events.  I let him blow and then quietly said, I prefer my own newspaper which surprisingly is full of the same things.  Then I hung up.

Just called 416-630-5150. A very pleasant women answered and said they are a call centre for the Toronto Star and other newspapers. I asked that my number be removed from their list and was told that it will be removed immediately.

I keep receiving calls from this 416-630-5150 number, they do not leave any message, it is very annoying. Is this a SCAM and/or a bad business practice?...

Have asked numerous times over the past year to have my number removed from their list and I still receive calls, sometimes up to 3 times a day. Frustrating to say the least.

The call was to ask us to sign up for the Hamilton Spectator Newspaper.

Several calls over time just a few minutes ago for the last one. No one answers so I hang up.

I get a call from these morons at least once a day.  I never answer of course.  What in the world do they want to accomplish?

I get this caller at least once a day. Its Newspaper Call Centre.

This number calls me way to often - as soon as I see it - I DO NOT ANSWER. This is a real Pain In the _ _ _.

This number has called several times.  I finally googled NCC Inc & saw this website of complaints.  So I called back the number.  The lady who answered said "newspaper call centre"  I asked to get my number removed & she apologized for being bothered by the calls.

They are trying to sell the "Toronto Star". I told them no thanx, not interested, asked them to please take kme off their calling list. I get calls from them almost daily & sometimes more than once!
I have blocked them on my phone (an option my phone comes with) but it has to ring once before it registers on the caller display, so I have to hear it every time!! Very annoying that they can't just honour my request to stop calling!!!!  :(

These idiots call me every day and I ask them over and over to stop.  I reported them to the do not call list or otherwise known as the useless list.  I reported them to Bell which was just as useless.  What can be done to stop this?  The two numbers that call me are 905 419-7370 and 416 630-5150  Someone give me the address of NCC Inc and I will pay them a visit.  The other company that calls all the time is for Duck cleaning.  I have a dog.  (and a sense of humor)  next time they call I will keep them on the phone for an hour and then tell them no thanks.  Will try wasting their time.
