someone named habib called me on my cell phone of all things just now and at least 2 other times this month....once from him and once from another guy.  I asked him why he was calling me on my cell and that he owed me 75 cents and instead of apologizing he hung up on me.  I swear to god, if they call one more time im going to pretend i'm a police dispatcher just to shut them up.

They've been aggressively trying to sell us duct cleaning services for the past few years. This time, I told them I just took a big dookie and I could definitely use some "Butt cleaning services". The indian telemarketer replied back "I'm gay and I would love to clean your butt, baby". I hung up on him and the he called me back instantly and said, "I want to have sex with your mother". I"ve been patient with them for the first few times but it's time mess with them back.  They'll call me back sooner or later anyway so I might as well have some fun with it.

I had just finished putting in another complaint with crtc  for #416-759-2083 when this idiot called within 2 minutes (905-698-0166).  So, next time I'm inviting them to a location, getting a vehicle plate and going to the police.  They can trace the plate and you can then lay a charge of harrassment or mischief.  If you get the right officer, they'll be more than happy to assist you with laying the charge.  Ask family and friends who they know at your local police division.
Make sure you keep a log of the phone numbers that call you, dates and times for evidence. Why not scare the [***] out of these pricks!

Automatic Caller.  Duct cleaning service from India.  Barely speak English.  Do not answer and if you do tell them to [***] OFF!

just received this call....no sounds at first for like 10 seconds as I keep saying "hello?!" LOL...finally a guy talked say he is from something duct cleaning...I hang up...kind of rude of me but I kept on getting calls from this numbers for months now....ARRRR

These [***] have been calling all year. Nothing you can do, so do what I do and just have a laugh any way you can. I do everything I can to keep them on the line as long as possible... my record is 45 minutes and they get SOOOO MAAAAD.

This # calls me a few times a week. Last time an hour ago. Same duct cleaning story.
Has anybody ever used their service!? I am curious who these guys are!!!

I keep getting the same call from that number! I have asked several times for them to stop calling me. I asked one time what company it was and he hung up on me. I can't wait for the next time they call, I will be telling them I just moved into my new house and want the air ducts cleaned. They will be sent to a fake address for their harassing phone calls! I can't wait till they call and say they r knocking on my door and I get to tell them that's what they get!

416-848-6306 is a duct cleaning company.  If you live in Canada and are on the DNCL report this phone number each time(it has to be each time so that DNCL knows how many time they ignore the DNCL list)

By reporting them that is the only way the DNCL knows how many times they violate this and can fine them.

Ok.. all you people that think the DO NOT CALL LIST has anything to do with stopping telemarketer calls..

This wonderful thing we got many years ago called "the Internet", opened an abundance of avenues for all kinds of communications we may still be unaware of..

One being VoIP, VoIP allows digital, virtual telephony.. place calls from anywhere in the WORLD, to anywhere in the WORLD.
Next they can even pick whatever phone number they want to be call displayed and after you ban that number, next week they pick a differrent number, so it's a loosing battle.

Just as easy as it was for IBM, Microsoft, Bell Canada, etc. to have people in India answer their support lines, it is that easy to call your home number from anywhere in the world. If they have your name and address and obviously your phone number (which shouldn't surprise you), this information is available to anyone from many sources.

Although the telemarketer may say they represent a local business, that doesn't mean they are calling from that local business (they were only hired by someone, to make these annoying calls), they are more than likely not in Canadian borders, which unfortunately makes them exempt from the Canadian DO NOT CALL LIST.. The "DO NOT CALL LIST" lost before it could really get going, only because of the Internet, VoIP and off shore telemarketers. The Canadian DO NOT CALL LIST only applies to telemarketers within Canadian borders and I don't think there are any left here.

If you wish to complain to someone, get the name and phone number of the company the telemarketer represents, then make your complaints to that company..


Side Note..
I've always wondered if we all feel and treat the telemarketer the same way when he/she calls, then why are there still telemarketers.. Surely telemarketing is a business and any business to keep alive must be able to achieve results for their customers.
The only reason there can still be telemarketers, is that they are getting results, so at what percentage of calls per day does a telemarketer need in order to prove it's worth?

And of course if there are results, then not all of us feel the same way toward the telemarketer !!!

I agree and I handle unknown numbers the same way...Just ignore them!

When they call me I say

"Hello thank you for calling A-1 duct cleaning services how may I help you?"

Received a call from this number,  the call display had "UKNOWN NAME".   When I piecked up it was dead air for about 15 seconds then a recording of a computer voice (female) said 'good-bye'.

Weird.  I expect to hear from them again soon.

Unfortunately, this is not accurate. A company cannot exempt themselves from the DNC by hiring out of country services. The company that the service represents (the company that hired the calling service) is 100% responsible still. So, if you were to log the calls, and find out what company they represent, the duct cleaning service is still 100% on the hook for the penalties incurred. Voip and other call masking techniques make it hard to identify who you're going after but it does not save the company that initiated the calling campaign.

For the past 4 weeks before the provincial election I got no "telemarketer" or "scammer" call me. But right after the provincial election over, calls start to came in again. All those 4 weeks I only got political robo calls form 2 major parties. At first, I just block the numbers right after I pick up the first call. But strange things happen, they begin to switch phone numbers to call me. Using the same method as the "telemarketer" or "scammer". In curiosity, I research all those political robo call numbers. The numbers that the PC party use was previous calling people for debit consolidation just a month ago. The robo call numbers use by Liberal party were calling people for air duct cleaning and Bahama Cruise before.  From those numbers, people at the forum say those call center were in India or Pakistan. I always feel skeptical about this theory, cause they never call me on Labour day, Easter weekend or Victoria Day. Are those days also a statutory holiday In India and Pakistan too? Furthermore, I think there is a regulation say no outside of the country help/assistance for the provincial election. So those call centers are located within Canada not oversea.  I am not on DNCL, my number is unlisted, the only origination know my full name, address and phone number is Revenue Canada and Election Canada. So I think the call center use the voters list instead of DNCL to call.  I did contact both candidates, ask them who they hired for the robo calls. One candidate say he did not hired anyone to call me(what a liar). The other candidate say he can not tell me, instead what he can do for me is to ask the call center to remove my number form their data bank permanently. Right after the contact, I did get less calls. Almost cutting half of the amount. I got 2 to 3 calls per week instead of everyday.
Maybe that's why CRTC never can get rid of the call center.
