This number keeps calling me but won't leave a voicemail... It's so irritating!

They say they're making a "courtesy call" from Optimum/ultima(?) on behalf of Scotiabank and say you are pre-approved for different types of insurance they want you to offer you. Then they ask for your date of birth, claiming they want to make sure they are speaking to the right person??! I became suspicious and refused to provide it, at which point the woman caller became rude and directed me to the ScotiaLife Financial website, saying they'd call back!
I still doubt that these people are legitimate. Anyone can give out a legitimate company's website info. But why ask me for my personal info when you are calling ME? I would understand if I am calling the financial institution and they want to verify who I am.

Calling but don't know who it is.

So this number has been calling me for 2 weeks straight, and I don't pick up because we do not know anyone from Ontario. Finally, i pick up, and the lady says she's calling on behalf of Scotiabank for life insurance, and that I qualify for (I forgot what amount of accidental benefit) for $42 a month. So I tell her, I don't commit to anything without asking my wife (actually , my wife wears the pants in the house so its very true LOL). Then she says..."it's ok, we can send you the contract and you can cancel within 30 days if you don't like"...EXCUSE ME, A CONTRACT OVER THE PHONE WITH A GAL FROM WHO KNOWS WHERE? HELL NO !" SO i say no, because first of all I don't see your number as being part of Scotia, and secondly, If i need extra life insurance, i'll do my own research...so she keeps pushing and I say talk to my wife.
So now they are calling once a week. As soon as my wife picks up, they hang up, because they know she'll be pissed or likely say no. I think they think I'm too weak and they can somehow sucker me into it, hoping to get me on the phone. This should be illegal to harass people like this for no F-ing reason !!!

I got it from scotiabank, her English was full of grammatical mistakes and pronunciation sucks. Even after saying i have insurance, she keeps giving rebuttals and takes appointment for next time and then i never picked up her call but still she calls.

terrible experience...pushy and after 3 times telling her I was not interested I had to hang up on her .i am going to email scotia bank to verify that this is how they do business...am a customer of 30 plus years and i am not putting up with
this type of treatment
