    Thanks, Rob... good info.

Since I emailed Covista last Thursday or Friday (2/18), I haven't received a single call from Home Security Group... hopefully, they've been shut down.

    (503) 226-4444 is not customer/telemarketing company -- it's a company hired specifically for telemarketers to hide behind.  Take a look at this thread: https://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/6032143564/2

That company (TM CallerID) lists these as the services they provide: "Our easy-to-use web interface makes it simple to manage your call center's caller ID requirements. Easily and quickly update the caller ID to reflect your client's needs.  Comprehensive reporting tools keep you up-to-date with number of caller ID queries, caller ID history and more.  We also help keep you in compliance with FCC do-not-call rules by providing IVR services as well as compliance tracking and list scrubbing through our strategic partnerships."

Interestingly, the guy I called today said they scrub their lists every 90 days -- but https://telemarketing.donotcall.gov/faq/faqbusiness.aspx says "Starting January 1, 2005, telemarketers and sellers will be required to search the registry at least once every 31 days and drop from their call lists the phone numbers of consumers who have registered."

Sven -- in terms of calls from TN, I think Revocalize just purchases VOIP trunking from Covista.  The numbers could probably show up as being from anywhere while the callers are probably in some other state.   I got a cell number over 10 years ago when I moved to Illinois, kept it through moves to a couple other states, and have since ported it to Google Voice -- but I can call and the number still shows as my IL number.  I think what we're seeing from these people is similar, they probably just have TN numbers since that's where Covista is at, but I suspect they are serving soft-phones somewhere else (maybe UT).

i also received multiple calls from this number.  i filed a complaint w/ Covista and got the following response:

Thank you for letting us know of the activities of one of our local service customers and how their activities have inconvenienced you.  Covista does not condone nor tolerate the behavior you described and has informed this customer of your complaint.  The customer has asked that we provide you with their contact information so that they can address your complaint directly.  Please contact TM Caller ID at (503) 226-4444 and ask to speak with David.

We have been assured by the customer that all such activities have ceased.  However, should you experience any additional problems please contact us immediately.

Security One is committed to honoring its promise to its customers to deliver premium state-of-the-art security service protection and peace of mind, And I believe them.So why are you accusing security one? All of the allegation you heard is really not true. My friend had a great experience with this company.

    Yup  -- that answers a lot !!!
So David's company ---- made up a name of Home Security Group.
He SUPPOSEDLY represents some other company or number of companies.

WHEN THESE CALL ARE MADE TO YOU --------
They never talk with you about different security systems.
They never give you names of local security companies that they work with.
They never give you any info about the companies they represent.
They have no local contractors that they work with.

You call them, and they aren't interested in doing any estimates.
    THEY NEVER MAKE ANY SALES.

They don't even want you opinion of what you think of home security systems !!!!

Exactly what is their purpose again?

Folks -----------  these guys aren't selling ANYTHING.

They appear to represent someone who wants to bother you with a bunch of calls that serve no useful purpose to you.

It's almost as if they want to see who is home --- who answers the phone.
And that that ----- is one of the main purposes of the calls.

Reason it out folks --- a telemarketer --- that has no desire to make any sales whatsoever ?!!!

    This is not about telemarketing.
This in not about research for a home security company or group of companies.

    Plain and simple.

P.S. --- talk with Covista all you want. You will get no where.
BUT, they will tell you they are RESEARCHING the matter.
    Sure they are.

Yeah, I'm curious also what the purpose of these calls is and why a company thinks they can make money bothering, disturbing, and harassing random strangers!  Strange business model.

One creepy possibility is that they are "phishing"-- trying to get confidential information such as credit card numbers to sell to criminals.

As for Revocalize, I hope companies like that are sued and regulated out of business.  Disturbing people who are busy or need rest or just don't want to be bothered is one HELL of a strange and ugly business model.  If anyone can think of some legal way to hurt these people, I'd love to hear about it.  I despise them.  They're the cockroaches of the sales and advertising world.  Anyone have some RAID?  For sure, the do-not-call registry seems to have lost its teeth.

What a bunch of whining jerks.  Just what the world needs is a bunch of moaners to stir up more legal battles in America.  If you don't want to be called, get an unlisted number.  If you don't want to talk to someone you don't know, get caller ID.  Is it really so bad that companies reach out to you to offer you their services?  This is America, the dream of doing Business and keeping the economy going.  What in the world is wrong with you all?

    Bob who called Tom back
This is a robocall from Monitronics Home Security Systems. They use a variety of phone numbers to call you. Look them up online. They are not a company you want to be doing business with.
