Check you state laws.  The statues of limitations vary by state. Here in Texas it's a four years. No matter what
You do do not admit ownership of the debt or make a payment. You could inadvertently reset the statue date to zero. And depending on the type of debt if it's a more than seven years old it should not be credit report anymore.

P.R. has een calling m also.On a J.C.Penny card that was never used.My allet got taken,i called J.C.P. told them what happened,they said no worries,and cancelled the card and acct.Now 9 years later here comes P.R. trying to collect,good luck guys,LOL!

For all of YOU Other people who think that we're all deadbeats that don't pay our bills and have have those [***] constantly calling our unlisted phone numbers to collect a debt, YOU ARE just as much as the [***] that they ARE!!!  When your Identity gets stolen and the other [***] that loved to destroy your credit, YOU ARE UP [***] CREEK without a paddle or any help from ANYONE!!!!
I've been to the local police, the FBI, I've reported it to all the credit bureaus and I get the same answer; "Sorry, we can't help you!"  That Crazy outfit called "LifeLock" is a joke!!! They can't help you either!! So your life is screwed forever, by all!! You can't buy anything on credit. You can't rent anything!! And sometimes you can't even get a job, because of your bad credit rating. So, unless you've got a lot of money, your not gonna have much. Even if you need serious hospitalization, you're still up [***] CREEK!!!  OH! And BTW, my Identity was stolen back in 1989 and then again in 2007. I am being harassed to pay for stuff I never purchased on credit, because I haven't had any credit since 1990, 22+ years ago!!!  And I'm sure as Hell am not gonna pay for what the CROOKS have purchased in my name!

Robo called.  I love it!!  They has us on speaker so they don't hear when the phone gets answered.  Guess these wing nuts don't really want to talk to a human after all.  Donotcall.gov is where that number goes.

Please understand I am not making light of your situation because I am truly sorry that happened to you.  As a possible solution, you might look into changing your identity, meaning your SSN.  You have a Federal right to do that since your ID has been compromised (twice) and because of that it shouldn't affect your future benefits that are connected to your current SSN.  It's worth the time to research this.  You can restart most of your life (sans criminal record) by doing this.

I looked into it when my identity was stolen in 2010.  I ended up closing all accounts and getting a safe deposit box for cash didn't want to carry with me or keep in my home.  Turned out I got lucky.  The FBI and attorneys for the company these ID thieves said they were from took care of things and I had no more problems.  Today I have a debit card that I rarely use and I pay cash for everything.  My bank hates that, but tough s--t.  It's my money and my credit.

I keep getting these calls, day, night, anytime.  It is a debt collector and I do not have any debts at all, never have.  I am 81 and I want them to stop calling here as I am handicapped.  They are looking for someone else.

Someone from this number called my home phone line that is unlisted. I did not answer as I did not recognize the number. The initials were: D.B.T.

They did not leave a message. I called the number back immediately and it said that the number had been disconnected.
