stated no need to inspect and that he would pay asking price plus  extra for mento the send to his agent via western union. Claimed he was at a rig offshore and had no credit cards with him

I have also recieved a message today from this person, naming himself natanh swanson email nathanswanson03@hotmail.com, Stated he wonted the car, but was getting corrier to pick it up, would only deal through paypal, and wouldnt give over any details such as adress and lic number, car was on drive.com.au, will inform them of this.

I got the exact same message from an ad on car sales, but with a different email address & phone number:

Viewed ur car add,still for sale?wat is ur firm price and condition?Get back 2me on fldjones462@gmail.com, this phone line is currently scrambled

I googled the email address of the person who text'd me this morning after my car for sale advert went up last nite - It was your friend philsc@live.com.au

...sent a text (early this morning) asking if my car was still for sale - asked me to email him (which I did before I googled his email address)

Oh Yes - he smsd from an optus number 0401 110 782 ..which when I called I got the message saying that the number was currently not acceppting incoming calls

I have also had a message from Nathan Swanson saying he will buy my car without inspection as long as I give him my paypal account details.  Very dodgy.

When you are done with the registration kindly get back to me with the email used while setting up your PayPal account so i can make the payment.i will contact the courier agent that will come to pick it up as soon as you have confirmed the money in your bank account. .Await your reply

It's still continuing - similarly story: car for sale on CarSales. Got a text from +0411000369 asking me to email. I did, and got the following in reply:
Mate,thanks for the response,i would have loved to call but due to bad
weather our SATphone is currently scrambled .Please am buying the car
for my wife who just gave birth to a baby boy in my absentia.She lives
in Darwin presently so the car is going to be shipped to Darwin after
have sorted out with the payment.i want to be sure if the car is
still in good condition , preferably if i can get more close up
picture (engine and interior inclusive), i will not be able to come
for inspection now all i really need from you is the exact details of
the car.

Due to the nature of my work i am a very busy man working all day,am a
sailor am presently onboard .i will pay with the fastest and safest
online payment "PayPal" so i will need you to send me your paypal
email address so i can effect the payment,as i have my ANZ bank a/c
attached to my paypal account.I will be sending my shipping company to
come and pick it up and make a personal delivery for my wife in
Darwin.

It was obviously a scam and I have passed it to Pay Pal. But there's a real "Seller Beware" message here!

Since advertising my car 2 weeks ago I have had the same story three times it seems that every time I update my add I get contacted again.

I have been stringing all of them just to see how it works..

i will need you to give me your pay pal email address and the price so i can make the payments asap for the car and please if you don't have pay pal account yet, it is very easy to set up, go to www.paypal.com and get it set up, after you have set it up i will only need the e-mail address you use for registration with pay pal so as to put the money through. have a pick up agent that will come and pick the car up after i have made the payments.

i received the same message. he tried to chat with me to work out a deal and this was how the conversation went:
